Leaving it with you now. Be of good cheer!
Do you think it’s about trying to win the White House? Or is it about whether he can cripple the GOP?I keep hoping he will realize a head for business is not a head for the White House and he’ll back out gracefully and help the GOP, maybe after losing on the first ballot. I can’t see him getting all that into a life of reading from teleprompters, you know? Kind of cramps his style.
It’s awful to realize we would now be looking at Romney’s run for a second term if some Repubs hadn’t stayed home in a snit because he wasn’t conservative enough to suit them. Likely Romney would have changed the Supreme Court in two terms. The price of a snit could be pretty high.
I’m not as afraid of Trump as some are. My impression of him is that he really doesn’t have an ideology. He’s pure function, like a lot of business people are. People like that don’t have broad policies, they fix things that aren’t running right and look around for opportunities. He’ll concentrate on the economy and the bureaucracy and the budget, and leave foreign policy to others. He knows how to hire experts or he wouldn’t be where he is. He doesn’t build those buildings himself.
Cruz might have a better chance of beating Clinton, but he’ll have a mighty uphill battle. Not everyone agrees with this, but I think ]his personality is very unattractive, and .
Sadly you may be right about the “constitutional talk” being a turn off. Americans should be proud of our constitution and bill of rights, but many people these days see these great documents as old and outdated. (Liberal college professors and common core education are mostly responsible) No doubt because they have little to no appreciation of liberty. Socialism is being accepted, personal responsibility is being rejected. The politician who offers something for nothing will attract the socialist minded crowd who have been brainwashed into believing they deserve to have the same “portion” as everyone else.

Kasich is ALREADY for “abortion on demand” in the cases of rape and incest.Kasich will never be for abortion on demand.

I would lay odds that not one person in 100 has any idea what the Constitution really says.Sadly you may be right about the “constitutional talk” being a turn off. He’s already crippled the GOP.Do you think it’s about trying to win the White House? Or is it about whether he can cripple the GOP?
I’m glad I don’t share your pessimism. He’s already crippled the GOP.
Well put.The temper tantrum that Donald is throwing over Colorado is really ridiculous. Because they just didn’t have one election, they had eight elections in Colorado. They had one in each of the seven congressional districts and then they had a statewide convention. I was at the convention. Six thousand people at the convention were packed in there and voted statewide. In the eight elections, Donald Trump lost all eight. The elected 34 delegates and we won all 34.
Part of the reason Donald lost is he didn’t show up. I went and spoke at the convention. I went and asked the voters for their votes. Donald was supposed to go but he canceled because he realized he was gonna lose, that he didn’t have the support in Colorado. So he ran away scared and now he’s just making up nonsense.
Do you know how many people voted in the state of Colorado? 65,000 people voted. He’s screaming about stealing election. 65,000 people voted, they just did’t vote for Donald. They voted for our campaign instead and Donald can’t handle it, he’s scared. And so his response is to whine and cry and attack and complain.
He’s willing to say things that he knows are false. He’s willing to say things regardless of the consequences.

He has divided the GOP and conservatism, though, and I am afraid of the damage it could do on down the line.I’m glad I don’t share your pessimism.![]()
Conservatism is already divided, and it cost Romney the 2012 election. He wasn’t “pure” enough to satisfy certain types of conservatives, so they stayed home and didn’t vote. Anyone who expects ideological purity along his own conservative lines of thinking will never find a candidate he can support. If I ran a Democrat PAC, I would be mightily encouraging that way of thinking already. He has divided the GOP and conservatism, though, and I am afraid of the damage it could do on down the line.
That’s odd. I sure hear Dems talking about a lot of other issues. If the Dem party stands for abortion and “nothing else” it’s rather strange that Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton are locked in such a battle, since they both agree on abortion. It’s easier for Democrats to switch candidates because the Dem party stands for abortion and nothing else
Logic not allowed. Shame on you. That’s odd. I sure hear Dems talking about a lot of other issues. If the Dem party stands for abortion and “nothing else” it’s rather strange that Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton are locked in such a battle, since they both agree on abortion.
The Democratic Party stands for much more than abortion. In fact, they don’t mind if no one ever has an abortion!Conservatism is already divided, and it cost Romney the 2012 election. He wasn’t “pure” enough to satisfy certain types of conservatives, so they stayed home and didn’t vote. Anyone who expects ideological purity along his own conservative lines of thinking will never find a candidate he can support. It’s easier for Democrats to switch candidates because the Dem party stands for abortion and nothing else, and all Dem candidates support abortion. Promising free stuff and then not delivering doesn’t hurt a Dem candidate. Obama did a lot of that, but they still like him. In the end, the Sanders people will line up with Hillary Clinton, and very few will refuse to vote at all.
That’s odd. I sure hear Dems talking about a lot of other issues. If the Dem party stands for abortion and “nothing else” it’s rather strange that Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton are locked in such a battle, since they both agree on abortion.
That was news to me as well (not that I’m a Dem). That’s odd. I sure hear Dems talking about a lot of other issues. If the Dem party stands for abortion and "nothing else"
