The race card is the last refuge of the scoundrel in modern politics. This just cements for me the validity of Archbishop Vigano’s testimony.
 
It was a surreal thing to say. Based on his statements and his pro-homosexualist history, he should resign.

They are supposed to be exemplars of the Christian life but they are enabling evil!
 
I don’t know what else to call this statement by the Cardinal other than…stupid. Accusing wide swaths of the hierarchy of racism is a pretty tone-deaf claim that falls apart after even applying the smallest bit of logic. No one cares what race the Pope is if he’s orthodox in his beliefs. Add to that fact that Pope Francis isn’t actually Latino by blood and is in fact the most Italian Pope we’ve had out of the last three Popes and his statement is even more ludicrous.

I pray that Pope Francis will purge the Church of all clerics who seek to overturn Church teachings
and rewrite the Catechism on sexuality, marriage and the family.
 
Unbelievable. The Pope’s first and foremost “agenda” ought to be clearing predators and corruption out of the Church. But it wasn’t that long ago that he accused of calumny Chileans who denounced the Pope Francis-appointed Barros for covering up another priest’s sexual abuse!

And now this high-ranking prelate Cupich says that people upset by all this are racist? What about the upset Chileans, are they racist too? Does Cupich get a two-fer: Chileans are racist because the Pope is of Italian descent; those of European descent upset by this “rabbit hole” are racist because he is from Latin America?
