I felt totally Blessed one day when I was teaching my 7 year old daughter about Mary. I told her I was imperfect, but that she also had a mom in Heaven who loved her. She thought about it for a minute than excalimed, “Wow! I have 3 mamas. You, who love me every day, forever, and ever. My Birthmom who loves me from far away, and my Mama Mary who loves me from Heaven!” Her face was a lit up and happy. :dancing:
Aw, that one made me tear up a little bit!! Granted, I’m pregnant and slightly (ok, seriously) emotional today, but still. This is really, really great. What a wonderful perspective your daughter has! And how blessed she is to have you as her mama!

Beautiful! My youngest told his mom that he was going to tell santa and Jesus that his mom is bad for making go to bed during Max and Ruby

Given your current health issues JillianRose, I applaud your attitude. Humor is always a great way to enjoy our days, but kid humor is the best! Still praying for your stomach.
Thank you so much… Once the kids were in school I balled my eyes out. NO MATTER WHAT, its them Their little faces. I can’t help but be completely in love with my life. Yet I am sooooo scared. I will not let satan take one day from me and my family. I will worry when I am alone but I HAVE to be normal around them.

You made me cry again… Sorry don’t mean to bring down this thread.

I don’t have a mom and dad so its really hard. I don’t care what anyone says even when you are older you still need your mother!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Xoxo,
JIll

My two year old was taught to say “Happy Birthday Dada!” by my wife when I came home from work a few weeks back. Apparently she liked the reaction she got from me, because every day I get home, she says “Happy Birthday Dada!”. She doesn’t get the meaning, but she likes the hugs & kisses she gets in return.

My sister (as a three year old) used to to say “Ham of God, you take away the seeds of the earth.” and would extended her hand and say “piece of pizza” during the peace offering.

My Four year old blesses his food. He prays :

Bwess us oh ward and deez I gifts which you bout to receive from MY bounty true Christ Our ward amen. In da name of da Fadder and son any hoe-ee spririt Amen.Holy Noodles. (He is saying hallelujah. It might be a good name for a Catholic Cafe!! )

We all say the blessing together at dinner. Our two year old hasn’t put much effort into remembering the whole thing (probably because he is more concerned about being hungry) so while the rest of us say it the right way, he just says ‘Bwess Ward. Amen. Bwess Ward. Amen.’ as many times as he can before we finish.

A wee bit inappropriate, but:

5-year old brother: “What do whores do?”
Me: “What?”
Brother: (holding up kitchen timer and pointing to the HOURS button): “What does this do?”
Me: “PHEW! It’s pronounces “hours”, bunny.”

I’m a EMHC. More than once, I’ve heard children who have not received their first Holy Communion say to their parents as they are walking back to their pew, “I want a cookie, too!”

My four year old was riding to the store with me last fall and we were listening to the “silly old nun” (Mother Angelica) on the radio, or rather he was listening and my mind was reviewing all the things I needed to accomplish that day. From the back of the van I hear his little voice saying, “So He’s not a dove.” After the third time Paul says that I asked him what he was talking about, who’s not a dove. (My older children raise doves, chickens, turkeys, geese and parakeets so I figured he was talking about one of the birds). Paul says “The Holy Spirit is not a dove.” I responded, “You’re right, the Holy Spirit is God, the third person of the Blessed Trinity. He is not a dove, but many times we draw Him in pictures as a dove.” Paul says, “No Mommy, He is not a dove. The silly old nun says He is a parakeet!” (my assumption is he heard Mother Angelica talk about the Holy Spirit being the Paraclete)

The BEST!!!

I love our kids!! Please Lord let all these child do wonderful things in our Mother Church!!

Blessings,
Jill

Speaking of Mother Angelica, my oldest was sleeping over with grandma when he was about 3. He put the sheet over my mom’s head, and said “Grandma, you look just like Mother Angelica.” My mother said, “No, she’s so old, I don’t look like her!”
DH responded, “No Grandma, Mother Angelica is beautiful!”

When my son was little, somehow we got on the subject of marriage, and I remember telling him that it’s important to find a girl who believes in the same things you do.
“Like Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy?” he asked.
