Or why I don’t believe LDS posters who say they are only here to correct misunderstandings of LDS doctrine(not that I see any consensus on just what that is).
From the MAAD board and someone who posts here pretending a love of and participation in Catholicism.
*"I think that many members need to embrace the internet and become cybermissionaries. First, they need to gird up their loins for internet surprises that they may discover. I think that cybermissionaries need to have testimonies of steel or just don’t care what they may read or discover.
That being said, I have found myself on a catholic apologetic site defending the lds church against blatant anti-mormon former mormon catholics. It is rather sad because I do attend mass and would definitely defend the catholic church against anticatholics. But those guys over there are extreme in their antimormonism."*
I’ve never seen any actual defense of Catholicism from this poster here or on MAAD but whatever.
And a follow up post.
I don’t know if Daniel understands this. Many lds do not know about various facts that should be known before being good cybermissionaries. The shock and awe of some facts may knock a few off before they can become cybermissionaries.* I think that we** would need a special class for cybermissionaries that covers some of the problematic areas that they may encounter before sending them into the cybermission field.*
I think the “we” in this paragraph shows exactly where this posers allegiance lies.
