CCC 1389 recommends daily Mass. Does this mean that I should live within walking distance from Church in one of the few cities in my country which has this? (The criterion of convenient Confession times reduces it further to around two.) It seems that Catholicism is a force of urbanization here. I prefer an urban lifestyle myself, but not everyone can afford it. I also wonder if I am in some sense illoyal to my present living situation if I overemphasize this issue instead of doing the best of where I am currently located (cf. e.g. 1 Timothy 6:8).

Sorry to hear of the dilemma. Naturally, for the spiritual life, living a short walk from daily mass can have inestimable benefit. The opportunity for daily adoration (exposed or reposed) is another huge factor to consider.

You are required to do neither. This will require some time in contemplation and you might consider praying over this before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. However, the Lord knows your heart and what you need to survive in an urban situation. You might be surprised at how gratuitous the Lord is toward those who love Him by spending time with Him.
