Daily mass and reconciliation. Scrupulous?

I am wanting to start going to Daily mass however I feel like I keep messing up and am having a hard time telling if im in mortal sin or not throughout the week. I go to confession frequently and am wondering if I should wait to go to Daily Mass and receive Eucharist if I am unsure of my state. Thank you!
 
While you should always be sure to be in a state of grace when receiving the sacrament, if you have a hard time discerning you should take those concerns into the confessional. Talk to your confessor priest about the specific things you are uncertain about, but also about scrupulosity in general.
If possible, it would be good for you to start going to confession primarily with a single priest you trust so the two of you can try digging at any underlying issues.

Where do you stop? Hourly confession?

Study mortal sin! Learn the faith. You cannot accidentally sin mortally. It MUST be SRS stuff, you know it’s SRS stuff and, by your own free will, decide to willingly turn from God in order to please yourself.

However, since all of this has already occurred to you, I’d say anxiety/OCD/scruples - they all stem from the same improper thought patterns.

But wait! You can fix thought patterns! Ask your mom and dad. If you are of age, ask doctor. Help is waiting and God greatly desires…

Just know you are not alone. I am what I would considered well versed in the faith and still struggle with wondering if certain sins are mortal or not. But just remember, full knowledge, full consent of the will, and grave matter are all three needed to commit a mortal sin. I struggle with OCD and am diagnosed so that is also something you could look into. God Bless!
 
Just go, even if you don’t take Communion each time. Your life will be better* if you go to Mass frequently.

*Note: I said “better”, not “easier” or “happier” or anything else. Better. Trust me. 🙂
 
I agree with angel12 who said you need to discuss with your priest whether you are actually falling into mortal sin frequently.
However, going to daily Mass is always a good idea; if you are sinning, then the grace from Mass will help you sin less or stop sinning.
The only issue is whether or not you are in the state of grace for Communion. Even if, based on discussion with your priest, you determine that you cannot receive Communion, you can still get benefit from attending the daily Mass without receiving.

All actual sins are voluntary. Sufficient reflection is needed for mortal sin so that it is actually a personal choice.

Baltimore Catechism
Q. 284. What does “sufficient reflection and full consent of the will” mean?
A. “Sufficient reflection” means that we must know the thought, word or deed to be sinful at the time we are guilty of it; and “full consent of the will” means that we must fully and willfully yield to it.

If you’re having a hard time telling if you’re in mortal sin then it sounds like you aren’t. I would talk to a priest though and refrain from the Eucharist until you know for sure.
 
Don’t be so hard on yourself. The main thing is that you are making an effort to go to confession on a regular basis. Sometimes sins slip through the cracks. If you think you forgot to confess a sin, put it on your list to confess the next time.
Going to Mass on a daily basis would be a blessing in itself.

I agree with the person that said study the faith on mortal and venial sin. I do know that one thing the devil does is try to get people not to go to Communion when one is in the proper state.
 
First of all, consult your priest. But I have a question, why is it that hard to know if you are in mortal sin? Did you knowingly and freely commit a sin of grave matter or not? If you are not sure if it was grave matter, then you likely are not. If you are sure, then you are in a state of mortal sin. I hate to oversimplify such an important issue, but it most often is pretty simple.
 
No dont wait… daily mass is definitely worth it. Go to daily mass if you can it is medicine for the sick soul to go. Of course if you are in mortal sin you cant receive on those particular days but other days you can. It will instil in you a desire not to sin, so you can receive. If one can aspire to daily mass it has untold value even if you are not able to receive on occasion and merely sit and watch others receive in great humility. Venial sins are forgiven in the mass so this may in fact help you.

As others have said do check with your priest if you are scrupulous regarding what is sin etc. and it is also good advice to study what is mortal sin. Also realise that it is often temptation itself that leading you to believe these things about yourself. Next time in confession ask your priest about this or make a special appointment. Also ask God to help you and pray that you be given peace in this matter. God bless you
 
You only commit a mortal sin if you it was a grave matter, you were fully aware it was a mortal sin and you gave your full consent. It is impossible to fall into mortal sin on accident. You really should discuss this with your priest, but continue to go to Mass every day even if you can’t receive Communion. You can still get a lot out of attending mass, I’m not Catholic and when I do go it helps.
