Everything that WEgirl said! I agree that “Auntie” was just trying to “help”. I wouldn’t even bring it up to her at this time, but if she’s still around next year, I would let her know ahead of time that you’d like to do the decorating with your kids (as someone else mentioned, it would be nice to invite “Auntie” to join in).In addition, my dd also is the tree decorator, decoration put upper type person in our family. Thanks goodness! Sometimes I’m so tired from working, running kids around, and taking care of household stuff, it seems too much to add ONE MORE THING! DD did a beautiful job this year. I think I’ll grab some cocoa and go admire the treeI agree with others–she had the best of intentions. I’m not a big tree deocrator. I loved it growing up, but with all the other decorations, my dd has taken it over…and LOVES THE JOB. I love sitting in the living room…with a glass of hot cocoa (it’s been chilly in Florida lately) and staring at the lights…but not a big, put it together and decorate it kind of person, anymore. I understand why you are upset though. You feel like she took your tradition away, but it sounds like her heart was in the right place. Have a blessed Christmas…I thought it was cute how your described your one child as…‘bouncing and babbling…’ aw!:heaven:
