Oh dear, I wish I hadn’t even seen THIS question! Being the curious sort, I had to go back and look at the pic. :bigyikes:

Now I need to wash my brain out with soap. :banghead:
Just be grateful that this is the picture they took. The article tells what happened next in this “dance”.
and then clinging to him with her legs wrapped around his body.
I think it was that move that the Mother Superior objected to more.

It’s these troubled minds that makes the RCC as the most scornful, mocking and laughable matter.

If what I’ve read is correct, this young lady has been reprimanded and will go back to her quiet existence. She may have opened the church up to a little mocking and laughing, but it will be soon forgotten by the fickle news media.

I think scornful is too harsh of a word to describe her actions. I would reserve such descriptions for the priests who have abused children and the bishops that facilitated it.

Thanks Nohome

That’s what I meant ‘troubled minds.’ It includes all of them (child abusing priests … etc) whose actions have been unholy. The damage has been done and nothing can be done to erase that from CNN news commercials. Anyway I’ll take ‘scornful’ back and replace it with ‘ridiculed’ if that’s ok.

To be quite honest, I am not offended by it at all.

I see a great deal of humor in it, but then again I have been known to watch South Park from time to time so I’m probably warped.

However, I would not volunteer to be on the side of the defense council when her Mother Superior admonished her because I could probably not keep a straight face nor offer any tangible defense other than “have mercy on this poor woman.” Plus, I’d be surprised if she didn’t expect to “hear about it” even while dancing. If she wasn’t, than she’s more innocent and naive than about anyone else I’ve ever known.

I wonder if her reprimand was only verbal or if she had to do some penitential acts.

Maybe it was exceptionally bad dancing 😃

Or maybe an exceptionally newsless day.
don’t yell at me:yup: But, it is in the UK:whacky:

Says that the article is no longer availible.

It was plastered all over AOL news - not only in the “News” section but on the welcome screen. (This is what they consider breaking news?) For a wild moment, before actually clicking on the headline, I thought it might be about a crackdown on some funky liturgical dance. Imagine my disappointment.

At any rate, while I prefer nuns in habits and behaving with a keen sense of decorum, I think her biggest mistake was to dance what looks to be the jitterbug — with a man — in public — in that outfit. :bigyikes:
