True. So obviously the Church doesn’t view virginity as something that, once “broken”, actually renders the person unsuitable.
Well they are considered unsuitable to become consecrated virgins or to carry the title of virgin.

Convents and seminaries will typically accept novices who have given away their innocence in a serious way but have maintained continence for a period of time, such as three years, indicating that they are capable of fidelity and a life of sobriety. This seems reasonable to me.
Convents and seminaries need members. It makes sense that they wouldn’t turn any suitable candidate away otherwise they will run short of members. I can only take one wife. I can be picky. Plus getting turned away by a seminary or convent can put a big damper on someone’s plan to become a religious. If I turn a woman down for a date she can have another date in a couple of minutes.
