Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Today is day 2 in my 3 day preparation to renew my Total Consecration to Jesus through
Mary on this Friday, Feb. 7. I’ve been blessed in practicing St. Louis de Montfort’s 33 Day Preparation to renew my Act of Consecration many times, but St. Louis encourages us to renew our Consecration often. We can do it in the short form; “I am all yours, my Queen and my Mother and all I have is yours.” every day and several times a day, if we are moved to do so or we can choose, as I am doing this week to prepare in 3 days.

Yesterday, Day 1 - I followed the outline of the 33 day preparation, of seeking to rid myself of the spirit of the world which is opposed to the Spirit of Jesus and to acquire a true knowledge of myself and sorrow for my sins. (corresponding to the first 12 days and the first week of the long preparation). Reading sections from “True Devotion” helps us: especially paragraphs 78 through 82 .

Today, Day 2 - I’m seeking to aquire an understanding of the Blessed Virgin and asking the Holy Spirit for this grace. (corresponding to the second week in long preparation). God willing, I will pray the Litany of the Holy Spirit this morning, with the Ave Maris Stella and in the evening pray the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary.

God willing, I hope also to spend time pondering paragraph 108 in “True Devotion” on Mary’s 10 principle virtues: deep humility, lively faith, blind obedience, unceasing prayer, constant self-denial, surpassing purity, ardent love, heroic patience, angelic kindness and heavenly wisdom.

Perhaps some will join me, but most of all I hope anyone who reads this will begin to pray with me, by God’s Grace, that all may grow closer to Jesus through Mary.

Dear Stephie and patricius,

Thank you both for your “faithful hearts” and your love for Jesus through Mary which prompted you to let us know, you liked what you read. It has been a blessed two days in this “shorter preparation” before renewing my Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary on Feb. 7 - the First Friday of this month.

What a contrast between yesterday and today! Yesterday was a day of seeking to rid myself of the world – and seek to acquire a true knowledge of self. Never an easy task, but a very important one to accomplish by and with God’s Grace.

Today is an immense contrast – for now I’m seeking to acquire a knowledge of Mary who was and is sinless from the first moment of her conception. How beautiful she is in her deep Humility, her lively Faith and in all the virtues! I can only thank God over and over for His gift of Mary to us in His words from the Cross: “Behold your Mother”.

Please let us pray for all Who long to see His Face – through Mary, with Mary, in Mary and for Mary.

I continue to read from “The Love of Eternal Wisdom” by St. Louis De Montfort, especially chapter 14, and it is very helpful, along with always going back to read from “True Devotion to Mary”.

Thanks for continuing to encourage us by your example.

Thanks for your reply, patricius. It is so good to know you continue to read, and be helped by St. Louis de Montfort’s writing – all of us need to be grateful for all God has given us through Mary. 🙂

It’s so easy to take our focus off of Christ and what he did for us by His Passion and Cross, and instead to focus on created things and worries.

It’s so wonderful to have Mary’s help to make us see the only necessary thing, which is being close to and loving Jesus Christ.
