Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Today is day 2 in my 3 day preparation to renew my Total Consecration to Jesus through
Mary on this Friday, Feb. 7. I’ve been blessed in practicing St. Louis de Montfort’s 33 Day Preparation to renew my Act of Consecration many times, but St. Louis encourages us to renew our Consecration often. We can do it in the short form; “I am all yours, my Queen and my Mother and all I have is yours.” every day and several times a day, if we are moved to do so or we can choose, as I am doing this week to prepare in 3 days.
Yesterday, Day 1 - I followed the outline of the 33 day preparation, of seeking to rid myself of the spirit of the world which is opposed to the Spirit of Jesus and to acquire a true knowledge of myself and sorrow for my sins. (corresponding to the first 12 days and the first week of the long preparation). Reading sections from “True Devotion” helps us: especially paragraphs 78 through 82 .
Today, Day 2 - I’m seeking to aquire an understanding of the Blessed Virgin and asking the Holy Spirit for this grace. (corresponding to the second week in long preparation). God willing, I will pray the Litany of the Holy Spirit this morning, with the Ave Maris Stella and in the evening pray the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary.
God willing, I hope also to spend time pondering paragraph 108 in “True Devotion” on Mary’s 10 principle virtues: deep humility, lively faith, blind obedience, unceasing prayer, constant self-denial, surpassing purity, ardent love, heroic patience, angelic kindness and heavenly wisdom.
Perhaps some will join me, but most of all I hope anyone who reads this will begin to pray with me, by God’s Grace, that all may grow closer to Jesus through Mary.
