Bishop was anticipating confusion, but none ever surfaced. No one to my knowledge ever asked about this before or after the change. He included this in his directives that implimented the the new documents on the liturgy last year. Along with the instruction that the deacon was not to self-communicate the Precious Blood.

God bless,
Deacon Tony

Sigh… if he was anticipating confusion, why did he not just publish a statement that deacons for whom kneeling is physically challenged are not required to kneel.

Did he not trust his flock to understand that??? :banghead:

(And was there a problem with deacons self communicating??? - a Deacon should know better)

Question: why do you presume the Bishop did not? It is almost certain that the Bishop did communicate these instructions to those who would need to know this (deacons and priests).

Possibly he may not have mailed every Catholic in his diocese a letter detailing these instructions, but it does not seem reasonable to insist that the Bishop must do so for every instruction he promulgates that only applies to some small minority of his flock.
