InJesus, thank you for the correction. I was mistaken.little correction. Morning Star and Sam are both converts to Christianity from Islam, but not the same personSam lives in SA, the OP is from Bengladesh.
Me, too. Pleased to meet you.I am affiliated with a Bible believing Christian church.
Matthew 10 said:16 Behold I send you as sheep in the midst of wolves. Be ye therefore wise as serpents and simple as doves. 17 But beware of men. For they will deliver you up in councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues. 18 And you shall be brought before governors, and before kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the Gentiles: 19 But when they shall deliver you up, take no thought how or what to speak: for it shall be given you in that hour what to speak. 20 For it is not you that speak, but the Spirit of your Father that speaketh in you.
John15 said:20 Remember my word that I said to you: The servant is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you: if they have kept my word, they will keep yours also.
Luke6 said:22 Blessed shall you be when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake. 23 Be glad in that day and rejoice; for behold, your reward is great in heaven.
So you’re Catholic! Why didn’t you just say so in the first place?I am affiliated with a Bible believing Christian church.
hi mystic warrior. sorry to jump in on the discussion, but i was wondering just how many Catholics you have heard say that someone is going to hell? that is certainly not a Catholic belief. as Catholics we believe that nobody (not even the Pope) can declare someone has gone or is going to hell. only God knows.First, I didn’t say whether or not I believed in purgatory. I was initimating the Catholic belief. The point was that the idea that protestants go straight to hell without recourse to Heaven is a deplorable theological construct that divides believers.
You seem to have a real problem trying to read between the invisible lines that you want to be there, but really aren’t. You really missed the whole conclusion of my post. In my mind, neither Catholics nor non-Catholics have everything right.
So, for a Catholic to say that a protestant is going straight to hell without knowing that person’s soul and standing before God, and for a protestant to say that a Catholic is not a Christian, is for me the epitomy of self-exaltation. I’ll let God sort out who is right, who is wrong and where they end up.
Peace…

Dear Jen.hi mystic warrior. sorry to jump in on the discussion, but i was wondering just how many Catholics you have heard say that someone is going to hell? that is certainly not a Catholic belief. as Catholics we believe that nobody (not even the Pope) can declare someone has gone or is going to hell. only God knows.
i am sorry if you heard that from numerous Catholics as that belief simply is not true.
So you’re Catholic! Why didn’t you just say so in the first place?
Hi morning star, I’m sorry you feel sad that you aren’t treated with respect over your new found religion but you must understand that Catholic Christianity is very different from the Christianity forum you visited.I never post such thread because i don’t want to divide christians.I became member in a protestant forum.this is (Link removed per Forum Rules) .most of people of this forum think that catholics aren’t the mainstraem christianity.I am upset with their comments.I tried to explain that both catholics&protestants are mainstream christians.&also give this catholic web address.but they aren’t ready to accept any information.I am sad.is it fair?
absolutely.I have to be honest with you and tell you that it’s hard for me to feel any sympathy for you.
It sounds like you’re getting a dose of what Protestants go through here when we constantly have to put up with comments like “you should ‘come home’ (as though our churches are not good enough)”, “well, you just don’t have the ‘fullness of faith’”, “We’re the real church, you’re not”, etc. I’ve seen posters here declared that non-Catholics are not saved.
Maybe you should start to clean your own house first.
I appreciate how you have stepped forward with you comments supporting Christianity here. I didn’t find a thing you said to be offensive. It would surely be great if our new believer in Jesus Christ here would get the real truth from the Scriptures and not the other stuff that would probably leave him confused and doubtful about God’s real saving grace.I am affiliated with a Bible believing Christian church.

Absolutely. The Scriptures talked about the early Christians, not Roman Catholics. That’s the difference. Roman Catholics did not exist in Jesus’ time, early Christians did, big difference. Catholics have changed much over the centuries whether they want to admit it or not. Look at the mass prior to Vatican II and look at it now.The Mass is not mentioned in scripture. The Lord’s supper is hardly a description of the Mass. If the mass was so important to Jesus why didn’t he go into details about the priests in the new testament, what their responsibilities would be… the rituals on the altar, confession to the priests. Why is none of this in the new testament? I don’t think I’ve ever read anything about how important it is to obey Papal authority. Don’t you think these things would deserve a mention?
egad!Dear Jen.
No worries. Here’s a recent post attached to a thread about protestants and purgatory that will show what I’m talking about. And this isn’t just one poster.

This thinking goes both ways, between protestants and Catholics and it’s shameful. Thank you for your kind post.
God bless…
