I think it would help in discussions if you would list in your profile the nature of your church affiliation. Just a suggestion.
I am affiliated with a Bible believing Christian church.

thank you brother inJESUS,ibkc,NDfan, reetiks, mysticworior, jonNC and all friend who are discussing about it.i am really very sad because some ppl don’t consider us as mainstream christian.i believe that catholic, protestants, eastern church all are pure christians though little difference belief.and buddies i am from bangladesh,a small country beside india(eastern side of india).brother sam_777 is from saudi arabia.God bless, all friends.:amen:

yes dear friend i also see that christians are divided and its a disaster for us:(.but thank you for ur long post with ur advise.and thank all christians friends also.God bless you and bless all christians and make unity among christians.:amen:
Thank you for your post. morning star, Jesus sends us children like you to make examples for us to be humble and simple, and to expose our faults at times. Although all of Christiandom shares the Love and peace of Jesus Christ. This non catholic forum, is to share one anothers differences and clarify misunderstandings of doctrinal belief’s. It does and has served a good purpose here.

As far as Maintstream Christianity thought from your part of the world, Christianity may not be considered mainstream. But in the Christian world, and history records not only in church doctrine, but literature, and art you can find the Catholic church from antiquity. If you research history you will find Catholicism for the first 1600 years, after that we have the protestant Christian movement. But we all believe in the same Jesus, just follow different traditions.

thank you dear friend Gabriel for ur kind words and explanation.actually you all CAF christians fellows are very kind to me when explain something.thank you buddies for all of ur kind concern.regards to all friends.jesus bless you all friends.:amen:

little correction. Morning Star and Sam are both converts to Christianity from Islam, but not the same person 🙂 Sam lives in SA, the OP is from Bengladesh.
InJesus, thank you for the correction. I was mistaken.

God bless…

Me, too. Pleased to meet you.

This is the only religious website that I post too. I do post on the Muslim-Christian forum on Facebook. I will continue to do that until I get my first death threat. Hopefully that will be soon.

Anyway, from what I can gather, there are a good number of non-Catholic discussion forums that will not allow any Catholic posters to in any way, shape, or form promote Catholic teachings as Christian. Catholics are typically banned if they do so.

Here is the difference. A non-Catholic can discuss things here. AS long as they are not rude or breaking the rules, the mods will not ban them. Other posters may be jerks, but such is life. Some other sites take the opposite approach. If you try to show the validity of Catholic Teachings, you are banned.

That is what is not fair. Than again, Jesus never promised us a fair life.

***Attention All:

Some of your posts have been edited to remove a link to a non-Catholic forum to help prevent other forum readers/members from visiting someone else’s website for the purposes of apologetics discussion and debate.

In an effort to illuminate and explain the Catholic faith, CA makes every effort to provide our participants with a pleasant and informative place on the internet where Catholics and non-Catholics may gather.

It is our hope that respectful dialogue and discussion will lead to better faith understandings. And so in charity, we ask that our forums not be used (even unintentionally) for encouraging mass visits to other forums. In the past these kinds of efforts, although perhaps well intentioned, leave participants at other websites with negative impressions.

Your cooperation in helping promote these aims of faith exposition, hope for fruitful discussion and charity in implementation are sincerely appreciated.

Sincerely,
Michael Francis***

Dearest Morning_Star…
As you have seen, there are some Protestants even on this forum that will treat Catholics badly… but do not fret about it… Jesus said this would happen:

Matthew 10 said:
16 Behold I send you as sheep in the midst of wolves. Be ye therefore wise as serpents and simple as doves. 17 But beware of men. For they will deliver you up in councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues. 18 And you shall be brought before governors, and before kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the Gentiles: 19 But when they shall deliver you up, take no thought how or what to speak: for it shall be given you in that hour what to speak. 20 For it is not you that speak, but the Spirit of your Father that speaketh in you.

John15 said:
20 Remember my word that I said to you: The servant is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you: if they have kept my word, they will keep yours also.

Luke6 said:
22 Blessed shall you be when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake. 23 Be glad in that day and rejoice; for behold, your reward is great in heaven.

And forgive the ignorance of others… pray for them, that our Lord will one day open their eyes and hearts to THE TRUTH.

First, I didn’t say whether or not I believed in purgatory. I was initimating the Catholic belief. The point was that the idea that protestants go straight to hell without recourse to Heaven is a deplorable theological construct that divides believers.

You seem to have a real problem trying to read between the invisible lines that you want to be there, but really aren’t. You really missed the whole conclusion of my post. In my mind, neither Catholics nor non-Catholics have everything right.

So, for a Catholic to say that a protestant is going straight to hell without knowing that person’s soul and standing before God, and for a protestant to say that a Catholic is not a Christian, is for me the epitomy of self-exaltation. I’ll let God sort out who is right, who is wrong and where they end up.

Peace…

hi mystic warrior. sorry to jump in on the discussion, but i was wondering just how many Catholics you have heard say that someone is going to hell? that is certainly not a Catholic belief. as Catholics we believe that nobody (not even the Pope) can declare someone has gone or is going to hell. only God knows.

i am sorry if you heard that from numerous Catholics as that belief simply is not true.

Dear Jen.

No worries. Here’s a recent post attached to a thread about protestants and purgatory that will show what I’m talking about. And this isn’t just one poster.

This thinking goes both ways, between protestants and Catholics and it’s shameful. Thank you for your kind post.

God bless…

I never post such thread because i don’t want to divide christians.I became member in a protestant forum.this is (Link removed per Forum Rules) .most of people of this forum think that catholics aren’t the mainstraem christianity.I am upset with their comments.I tried to explain that both catholics&protestants are mainstream christians.&also give this catholic web address.but they aren’t ready to accept any information.I am sad:(.is it fair?
Hi morning star, I’m sorry you feel sad that you aren’t treated with respect over your new found religion but you must understand that Catholic Christianity is very different from the Christianity forum you visited.

For me I don’t want to be lumped together with Roman Catholicism because I don’t believe it’s right. I don’t believe in the sacraments or the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist so why would I be happy with someone saying “you are just like us!”

I’m not like them and nor do I want to be associated with them, and I would say that the forum you visited feels the same way and expressed their opinions loudly. Perhaps instead of being upset you could study us a bit more and learn the differences between us… then decide for yourself whether you want to be baptised into the Roman Catholic church or be baptised bibically as Jesus commanded.

(sorry couldn’t resist  )

I have to be honest with you and tell you that it’s hard for me to feel any sympathy for you.

It sounds like you’re getting a dose of what Protestants go through here when we constantly have to put up with comments like “you should ‘come home’ (as though our churches are not good enough)”, “well, you just don’t have the ‘fullness of faith’”, “We’re the real church, you’re not”, etc. I’ve seen posters here declared that non-Catholics are not saved.

Maybe you should start to clean your own house first.
absolutely.

I appreciate how you have stepped forward with you comments supporting Christianity here. I didn’t find a thing you said to be offensive. It would surely be great if our new believer in Jesus Christ here would get the real truth from the Scriptures and not the other stuff that would probably leave him confused and doubtful about God’s real saving grace.

Morning star has found the “real truth”

You need to back up your accusation with some facts… in your own thread. As for Catholics… they are the original Church that Christ established… try looking at your Bible and compare how the new Christians worshiped and how your church worships… then look at the mass… exactly as described by the apostles…hmmmm…

It is a sad fact that the Body of Christ the bride of Christ is so divided. It makes me sick to think about it. It makes me sicker that neither side seems to really want to rebuild the gap that man created.

I have said it before… when you go to a march for Jesus or a rally for life, our signs should not indidcate what denomination we are. They should simply glorify God.

Ironically I have been called a heretic by both Protestants and Catholics. So I guess I am in good stand with everyone.

The Mass is not mentioned in scripture. The Lord’s supper is hardly a description of the Mass. If the mass was so important to Jesus why didn’t he go into details about the priests in the new testament, what their responsibilities would be… the rituals on the altar, confession to the priests. Why is none of this in the new testament? I don’t think I’ve ever read anything about how important it is to obey Papal authority. Don’t you think these things would deserve a mention?

Absolutely. The Scriptures talked about the early Christians, not Roman Catholics. That’s the difference. Roman Catholics did not exist in Jesus’ time, early Christians did, big difference. Catholics have changed much over the centuries whether they want to admit it or not. Look at the mass prior to Vatican II and look at it now.

egad! i will have to read entire thread!

again, it is wrong for ANY Christian to say whether or not someone is going to hell. i think the closest we can say is that if someone deliberately chooses not to be with God then it sure looks like he or she is hell bound, but we still could never know for sure what will happen.

anyway that was all i wanted to say. i like your online name btw!
