I guess you could say that but I didn’t consider either a heretic. They were mostly upset that I thought we should be reaching out to each other for the greater good which is bringing light to this world. How can the world see our light when we are using it to try and burn one another?

What do you think is a heretic?

I think anyone who preaches or teaches that Christ is not fully human and fully divine is a heretic.

I think Dan Brown is a heretic.

I think any teaching that leads you away from Salvation through Christ is heretical.

I do not think Protestants are Heretics nor do I think Catholics are Heretics.

I think heresy come from the heart. If your heart is full of pride, and unforgiveness you have left the door open to Satan the father of all lies and laid the way to heresy.

A Prayer for Charity, from 1 Cor 13

Lord, I know that all the signs of faith and belief are worthless and empty without charity.

Please keep me from being jealous, boastful, arrogant, rude, irritable, or resentful. Keep me from wanting my own way in everything, and from enjoying someone else being wrong.

Grant me patience and kindness. Let me rejoice in the right. Help me bear whatever comes, including insults to myself and my faith. Grant me humility.

Remind me that I am still growing, and that I do not know it all, that only You do.

Keep me strong in faith and hope, and above all, in love.

Amen.

I have to be honest with you and tell you that it’s hard for me to feel any sympathy for you.

It sounds like you’re getting a dose of what Protestants go through here when we constantly have to put up with comments like “you should ‘come home’ (as though our churches are not good enough)”, “well, you just don’t have the ‘fullness of faith’”, “We’re the real church, you’re not”, etc. I’ve seen posters here declared that non-Catholics are not saved.

Maybe you should start to clean your own house first.
Amen

What was uncharitable about my post?
The part about love and sympathy for your neighbor, forgiveness, understanding, etc. But just that.

Someone who calls themselves “pastor” while posting on a blog…hmmm. That is a little like a group of people attending traffic school and one is wearing his police uniform…kinda strange but not harmful…just strange.🙂

Agreed - if Catholics refuse to stop pouring vomit & excrement over others, they cannot complain when filth is poured over them.

Dean Swift was right: people have enough religion to hate with, but not enough to love with. We don’t Churches - they’ve caused more than enough trouble - we need Christ, to save us from them, & from the hatreds they perpetuate.
