I was so excited to see “The Gospel of John,” a movie that came out last year, I bought the DVD for $40 I was dumbfounded, and more than disappointed, to see the way the director portrayed Mary when she asked Jesus to help at the Wedding of Cana. They made her look like a nagging old gossiping biddy, who got the ball rolling to have Jesus crucified. She definitely did not look full of Grace, and it ruined the movie for me. It was so awful to see the meaning of that Scripture so butchered. Sickening. I agree, she saw a need, pointed it out and asked her son to perform His first public miracle. She knew what her son was capable of and that he could perform a miracle, she knew what she was undertaking when she said yes to God’s will to be the Mother of Christ.
