December Republican Primary Poll

Out of Romney and Gingrich, I have to go with Gingrich. For some reason, I feel like the guy is the better equipped of the two to handle the office.

Cain, well who knows he might have pulled off an Obama if it hadn’t been for the women. I will not believe it until there is some concrete evidence of their stories. Until then, it’s done it’s damage and I guess it’s better to be safe than sorry. I would hate for him to win the primary and all of the sudden the stories are true.

Congressman Paul, I salute you sir as you have the most courage and honesty of any politician up there. I would elect you in a heartbeat, but unfortunately I’m not the only one voting.

Perry, Bachman, Santorum and Huntsman…I’m like Newt, I don’t want to count anyone out yet. But the clocks ticking. If you have the cards, you might want to lay them down.
 
Without going negative on any candidate. Why did you pick the candidate you did? What are their positive points that you think are important?
 
I like Ron Paul, and probably agree with him the most (except we slightly disagree on foreign issues–he is a little too extreme for me in that area), so if I had the choice I would probably vote for him, but I think Newt Gingrich has the best shot at beating Obama. Ron Paul doesn’t look presidential enough for the majority of Americans who really don’t look at the issues.

I keep hearing some folks go for Romney, and their reason is because they just want to beat Obama. My problem with that is, what if Romney’s not the right guy for the job? We just elected a man simply because he might beat the other guy?

I’m don’t want to say anything negative about Romney, I have nothing against the guy.

Newt just comes across as the best guy for the job out of those two. And I love this idea he had:

It’s going to be Romney. It’ was always going to be Romney. Everyone knew it was going to be Romney. This has been kind of a show-process with a foregone conclusion.

I don’t think it’s in the bag for Romney. Gingrich appears more intelligent and also more honest and forthright, can think on his feet. He has made mistakes, but has been upfront about them lately. I think Americans get that none of us are perfect.

I agree, people may forget him. But his ideas will continue to gather in numbers as more and more people get tired of the status quo in Washington D.C.

Besides, his son will step up to fill his shoes.

Why do you think that? Neither side can win with just their base. It always takes moderates. And with the extreme conservative wing of the GOP brand flocking to Gingrich now as their anti Romney candidate, Romney appears the more moderate candidate between the 2 who are the GOP frontrunners at the moment.

I agree that more people will get tired of the status quo in Washington, but I’m not convinced they will flock to the ideas and vision of Ron Paul. I could be wrong, of course, so I won’t dwell on the point. I also agree that an idea can change the world even 400 years after it initially appears. Sometimes that is a good thing and sometimes it is a bad thing.

Ah yes, thoee attack ads. One wonders if the Republican Candidates are ngaged in such MAD attack ads, as to help the Democrats along. :slapfight:

As in…the GOP candidate is “A”. All those who preferred “B”, “C”, “:D” etc etc remember those attack ads and decide to vote Democrat. :stretcher:

I’ll probably vote Libertarian (again ) if Newt gets the GOP nomination :hmmm:
 
It is close for me between Romney and Gingrich, they are both great, but Gingrich is edging it for me.
 
Nothing has convinced me to abandon the Ron Paul campaign. He is where I am at on all of the issues, is scandal free, and appears to be impervious to lobbying corruption.

He’s still polling nationally at less than 10%. Nothing has changed on that front. But he is the most consistant of candidates.

Newt is fun to listen to 🙂

Mitt is a manager and has a proven track record of pulling a large organization out of an economic bind (e.g., the Utah Olympics)

All would make interesting presidents in their own way

I would be interested in seeing how Paul’s support has grown both in numbers and financial contributions over the past five years.
