Mitt Romney declined Newt’s invitation to a Lincoln-Douglas style debate. I think Romney doesn’t want to do any one on ones or anything where there isn’t at least 6 other candidates around because he looks better beside them (as Jon Stewart calls it, “The Marilyn Munster Effect”). One of his only one on one interviews on Fox least week didn’t go so well because the interviewer, “gasp”, asked him about his positions and past history and didn’t let Romney disown it by saying the facts “aren’t accurate.”
Huntsman accepted Newt’s offer to a debate. I’d like to see this. These are two of the only three people running I like. I hope it will give Huntsman a boost in the polls, I think he is a good candidate and someone I can happily vote for.

Romney is playing the game as if he is the front runner. Front runners don’t normally debate other candidates one on one because it tends to elevate the other candidate. It may be a good strategy for him.

What’s immaterial is just about every opinion out there because nobody really knows. I feel like I’m reading someones post whose sitting there hoping that if they keep telling themselves something that it will/will not happen that the opposite will actually take place.

I would vote for Gingrich in a general election, but I would not vote for Mitt Romney voluntarily nor by bribes of money. Not only is he pro-abortion, he doesn’t have any answers for the problems we have. Only a strong, moral, Christian even has a chance to dig us out.

You guys do know that the American people don’t even vote for President it is actually the Electoral College that votes for President.
Your Electors vote for the Candidate who they wan’t to win.
For Example:
A Man votes and tells his elector to Vote Orange but the elector said he is still voting Yellow.

In Michigan that vote can be canceled if it’s not for the candidate that the elector pledged, and in 24 other states the elector can be punished if the vote is not given to the the candidate the elector pledged to vote for.
Never has an elector changed or canceled a vote and altered the outcome of an election.

The only one I can think of was in 1972 when an elector pledged for Nixon and Agnew. When he placed his vote it was for Libertarian candidates John Hospers and Theodora “Tonie” Nathan. It was the first electoral vote to ever be cast for a female candidate.
