i have been reading the Mystical City of God, im still on the first book, then i heard about, The life and times of Jesus Christ and biblical revelations. i was thinking about buying it and was reading the reviews on amazon.com and someone said that Anne in her book says that more than 8 people entered into Noah’s ark, So this got me thinking, now i havent read the book, but can someone verify if she really did write that? is the book approved by the Catholic Church? i know people say saints can make mistakes regarding private revelations but that doesnt make any sense. If God is talking to u, how can u misinterpret the meaning?

Should i get the book? or is that reviewer lying, trying to get people not to buy the book?

thanks in advance.

I’ve never heard that but then again I’ve never been hardcore in Emmerich. I know of her Dolorous Passion visions and stigmata, all those claims. The Vatican has never ruled on her visions as authoritative but JP2 and B16 both hold her in high regard. I’m not sure if she’s legit or not. Mel Gibson used a lot of her visions in the Passion film. He’s a big fan. I’d research her a lot then if you find you believe her claims, go for it. If it seems a stretch and you’re not buying the statements, don’t buy it.

They have imprimatur, I believe. But one thing I found: she claims that when the Blessed Virgin was conceived by Anna and Joachim, her soul was joined to her body at three months into the pregnancy, rather than four and a half. There must have been a folk belief of four and a half.

But the Church teaches that soul and body are together at conception. There should have been a footnote to that effect. Just a reminder, things do slip through.

There is an obscure passage in Vol. IV of the Life of Jesus Christ and Biblical Revelations, dealing with the Passion, where Emmerich seems to slip into something very close to docetism. She says that Jesus’ divinity “went back to the Holy Trinity” so that only His humanity could experience the full suffering of the crucifixion. In a vision of Gethsemane she says, “I was shown that the Divine Will of Christ withdrew more into the Father in order to permit His Most Sacred Humanity to suffer all those things for whose mitigation and warding off the human will struggled and prayed in agony; so that the Godhead of Christ being one with the Father, all that for whose removal His Manhood prayed to the Father, should weigh upon His Humanity alone.” TAN Books, 1986, p. 89. This passage makes me a little uneasy. I found a lot of her visions moving and consoling, however, so judge for yourself. The book has the imprimatur of A. C. De Schrevel, vic. gen., 1914.

i didn’t read anything about that yet in The Mystical City of God, although im still on the first book, i do know however that St.Anne was also a virgin when she had Our Blessed Mother,
like i said i did not read anything about 3 and half or 4, i did read in TMCOG, that right when God created the Blessed Virgin Mary, she could see him.

@SGWessells do u happen to know if Emmerich said more then 8 people entered Noah’s Ark? also about what u were saying, i didn’t exactly understand what u were trying to say, so Jesus didn’t suffer or did not have to?

I’ve never read this book, but I have “the Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ”, and it’s a great book 🙂

God bless

This is what the reviewer said while i was seeing the reviews for the book on amazon, can anyone please verify whoever has the books if its true?

DO NOT BUY THESE BOOKS. THEY ARE FILLED WITH HERESY AND CONTRADICT WHAT IS SAID IN THE REAL BOOK OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST–THE DOUAY RHEIMS HOLY BIBLE–OPEN YOUR EYES, BE WATCHFUL AND PRAY FOR GUIDANCE FOR SATAN IS VERY CUNNING–
  1. FROM THE LIFE OF JESUS CHRIST VOL1, PG. 38. “HE TOOK WITH HIM INTO THE ARK SEM, CHAM AND JAPHET WITH THEIR WIVES AND THEIR CHILDREN. THERE WERE IN THE ARK GRANDSONS FROM FIFTY TO EIGHTY YEARS OLD WITH CHILDREN SMALL AND LARGE…”
THE BIBLE CLEARLY STATES IN GENESIS CHP6 VERSE 18. “AND I WILL ESTABLISH MY COVENANT WITH THEE, AND THOU SHALT ENTER INTO THE ARK, THOU AND THY SONS, AND THY WIFE, AND THE WIVES OF SONS WITH THEE”. GENESIS CHP7 VERSE 13. " IN THE SELFSAME DAY NOE, AND SEM, AND CHAM, AND JAPHETH HIS SONS: HIS WIFE, AND THE THREE WIVES OF HIS SONS WITH THEM, WENT INTO THE ARK".

ONLY 8 PEOPLE ENTERED THAT ARK: NOE AND HIS WIFE, HIS 3 SONS AND THEIR WIVES, NO WHERE IS IT STATED THAT CHILDREN AND OTHERS ENTERED. THIS IS ALSO STATED IN THE FIRST EPISTLE OF PETER CHP3 VERSE 20. “…WHEN THEY WAITED FOR THE PATIENCE OF GOD IN THE DAYS OF NOE, WHEN THE ARK WAS A BUILDING: WHEREIN A FEW, THAT IS, EIGHT SOULS, WERE SAVED BY WATER”.

GENESIS CHAP 10. VERSE 1. THESE ARE THE GENERATIONS OF THE SONS OF NOE: SEM, CHAM AND JAPHETH: AND UNTO THEM SONS WERE BORN AFTER THE FLOOD."----NOT BEFORE THE FLOOD----

IM NOT GOING TO SIT HERE AND STATE EVERY MISLEADING FABRICATION AS I WOULD BE HERE FOR MONTHS BUT THIS IS JUST ONE OF MANY FOUND WITHIN. FOR ME ONE IS JUST ENOUGH…

PEACE

St. Anne was a virgin when she had the BVM?

yes, i read it in The Mystical City of God, written by Mary of Agreda, get the 4 books not the abridged version.

Saint Anne and Saint Joachim did not have relations. Saint Joachim was there to protect her,
basically just like St. Joseph to Our Blessed Mother.

There many many things that those books talk about, its amazing.
everytime i read something, i think about what Jesus said.

John 16:12 I have yet many things to say to you: but you cannot bear them now.

I don’t believe that. It sounds far too apocryphal. So in theory then Anne’s mother must’ve been a virgin and Anne’s grandmother and back and back…??

I’ve never heard of this…

The thing is that Blessed Anne Emmerich’s book is an account of her private revelations (and private revelations are personal ie. for the person who received them). Private revelations are not the same as public revelation. Private revelations are always subjective to the person who receives them, and are subject to all the flaws and imperfections of the human mind and imagination. According to Fr. Groeschel, sometimes even the Saints misunderstood or reported inaccurately the personal visions given to them by God (getting dates and sometimes historical facts wrong as their human brains tried to make sense of the communications they received from the vastness of God). Remember, that the Saints were not saints until they got to Heaven, and received the benefit of the Beatific Vision.

I recommend you get a copy of A Still, Small Voice: A Practical Guide on Reported Revelations by Fr. Benedict J. Groeschel. It sets down some very practical rules to help anyone sort through all the personal revelations that have appeared over the years. The book will answer your questions.

Read this book before you read Blessed Anne Emmerich’s Book.

I’ve not read Emmerich yet (though I fully intend to read her works on Our Blessed Lady). But all I will say is… don’t look for revealed doctrine and dogma in her works. My understanding is that they’re not about that.

like i said St. Anne was a virgin when she had our Blessed Mother, and also as u and everyone (thats Catholic knows) the Virgin Mary was pure, Just Our Blessed Mother and her mom Saint Anne, it has nothing to do with grandmother, great grandmother etc.

read the books, everything is 100 legit, it answers so many questions, like people say why is there a purgatory if Jesus died for our sins? but most do not know that before Jesus died NO ONE can enter heaven, the good people Moses,Daniel,Adam,Eve,Noah etc. were in a place called limbo, Jesus did not go down to hell when he died, he went to limbo, lower earth.
Jesus died so we can have eternal life with him in heaven, purgatory is for us to go through purification, before we go there.(even though its hell with a time limit)

If Christ’s sinlessness and purity was dependent on a pure and sinless mother, then you claim Mary’s mother was a virginal birth and presumably also immaculate, it would have no end back and back and back. I don’t believe this. I’ve never heard this anywhere…sounds very apocryphal and suspicious…

How is it back to back to back?

St.Anne was praying for a husband, St.Joachim was praying for a wife, they found each other, because of God’s will. They had no relations, St.Anne was a virgin, So was The Blessed Virgin Mary(obviously) Then she brought forth God in the flesh. and that’s that. Read the book.

The Church does not teach this. The Church teaches that the only person who conceived and remained a virgin and gave birth as a virgin was the BVM. It was a singular event in the history of mankind. Who was the father of Mary if her parents did not have relations? How was Mary conceived?

Mary is not a goddess, she is a human being and was conceived as all human beingsare, except for Jesus–by sexual relations between her mother and her father. The exceptional thing about her conception is that she was conceived without original sin.

If this is what this visionary is teaching, I wouldn’t touch her writings with a 10-foot pole. Every time I read some of what people say she claims, the more I am convinced she was seriously deluded.

So who was the father of the BVM if St. Joachim did not have relations with St. Anne?
God, was if u read the book(4 books not the abridged version) thats one of the reasons lucifer fell from Heaven, because The Blessed Virgin Mary is second to God, and he wanted to be worshiped, he didn’t want to bow down to a human being. God was more satisfied with the creation of the Virgin Mary then the entire universe. Virgin Mary is perfect, Jesus is perfect. There was no way God would allow St.Joachim and Anne to have relations to bring forth the New Ark of Covenant.

From your statement I can say that she was incarnated by the power of the Holy spirit and became woman. That mean that she is consubstantial with her father and with her mother. Is that correct? If I am wrong please explain why. I would appreciate if you could tell me if Mary was created.
