Deciding to buy Blessed Anne Emmerich Book, does it contradict the Bible?

yo man who says u have to believe it? only difference is the people who read the book now,know this info on earth, other people will find out once they leave purgatory and say WOW! like i said it is approved search it,

I do not have to search it because it is not approved. You have to show that it is approved if you want to be convincing.

yes, i read it in The Mystical City of God, written by Mary of Agreda, get the 4 books not the abridged version.

Saint Anne and Saint Joachim did not have relations. Saint Joachim was there to protect her,
basically just like St. Joseph to Our Blessed Mother.

There many many things that those books talk about, its amazing.
everytime i read something, i think about what Jesus said.

John 16:12 I have yet many things to say to you: but you cannot bear them now.

make clear poster is referring to the work cited, not to scripture, which of course says not such thing, neither is it Church teaching.

While very spiritually mature people may benefit from reading these private revelations, most Christians are far better off sticking with scripture and the classic writers from Christian tradition who are also far more accessible. Even great mystics like Teresa warn against putting too much stock in so called mystical visions.

Think of it as pious fiction.

There are benefits to reading these things, just don’t think of it as 100% fact.

I brought up Padre Pio, to make an example to a poster, if u choose not believe then how i can i help? Why do u think God allows saints? so we can learn from them and get closer to God. u said its better to stay with scripture, while that would be good maybe a thousand years ago, but now that we have saints autobiographies, books that they wrote etc. example St.Faustina’s Diary, Then why shouldnt we read them? if the Catholic Church approves evolution are u going to believe that? No where in scripture does it say to JUST READ THE BIBLE. We should be happy and blessed that we have these books to read about what the saints wrote.

I believe that Padre Pio had stigmata, and nobody showed any evidence that his wounds were due to acid burns. However, you still have to show evidence of Church approval. Evidence of Church approval is shown by quoting a specific passage in a Church document and giving a reference to that document, anything else is just a personal opinion.

Okay Padre Pio is a saint and this is not a thread about him, nor did he produce volumes of books which recorded private revelations, to my knowledge, so why on earth have you brought him up in this context?. Nether Anne Emmerich–who is the topic of OP’s question–nor the other person Maria somebody a saint, so why the non sequiter about saints? Do you want an answer to OP or do you just want a rant on private revelation?
