You most certainly misundertstood what she posted! Maybe I’m wrong, but you’re still coming on as if Catholics are not Christians! I know there are Protestants who do not regard us as such. I had a lady tell me once that “she used to be Catholic, but now she’s Christian!” You also seem to think that a “church” is not important, in other words, pick and choose what you want to believe and follow Christ in “your own way”. But how can you be sure that you’re following him the way He wants?

I have been a christian now for only a year and a half. I’m attracted to the catholic church but am too nervous to go.
But all protestents do see catholics as christians. They do say though, that only mormons are not classed as christians. But any way it is true that a protestent might call them self a christian rather than a protestent. So as a result, if a catholic said “I am a christian” then you will be automatic assumed to not be catholic but just a christian (basically a protestent).
That is how it works socially. If you say that you are christian then people will over look the fact that you might be catholic. Usually… But you have to remember that we are in different countries, so social assumption is very different.
Again I want to say sorry, and I DO mean it. Some times catholics argue with me about silly things - so I am inclined to think they are being mean when if fact they are not…
God bless and don’t hesitate to privately mail me if you want to talk further. I am not anti - catholic. 😃

Well, Booklover and GraceDK,
I just read through the thread again and I realised that actually I was going completely off course! I can’t believe how mad I must have been to write those post. But any way I think I must have been stressed or something… Sorry. I still don’t get what you’re saying though. Are you saying that the church just doesn’t get up and go out into the world any more? That we just go to church and attend service without thinking how we could spread the gosple to the world other than the country we sit in?

Is that nearly there?
I’m sorry if I said anything that offended you. I do actually go to a catholic church too just not for sunday service… I want to become catholic but I’m having conflictions…:bible1:
Sorry again. Can we come to an understanding some how?
Hey take it easy brother… dont worry.
It’s easy to loose track with all these long threads …
Yes, I am saying that too many Catholics and their parishes have become sunday christians, who believe in principles rather than in the reality of Christ. They rarely speak about the miracles of the Holy Spirit, and even more rarely witness them in their own congregations. This is a problem.
If you ask many Catholics in Europe: do you expect miracles… or… do you believe in demonic possession, many will look at you with big ? in their eyes…

The Church per definition must be a group of people who do what Jesus Christ commisioned us to do, preach, lead to repentance, baptise, heal in his name… go from one end of the world to the other COMPELLED by love and holy zeal.

I am not at all as on-fire as i ought to be. But that dont mean I wont recognize that this is a huge problem. But now we better stop talking about this because we have hijacked the thread 😊

Why in the world not? Come on… you are most welcome :tiphat: I too was a protestant once (and I was not anti-catholic either), and I can testify to you: it’s not dangerous to go into a Catholic Church:)
