I have been a christian now for only a year and a half. I’m attracted to the catholic church but am too nervous to go.You most certainly misundertstood what she posted! Maybe I’m wrong, but you’re still coming on as if Catholics are not Christians! I know there are Protestants who do not regard us as such. I had a lady tell me once that “she used to be Catholic, but now she’s Christian!” You also seem to think that a “church” is not important, in other words, pick and choose what you want to believe and follow Christ in “your own way”. But how can you be sure that you’re following him the way He wants?

But all protestents do see catholics as christians. They do say though, that only mormons are not classed as christians. But any way it is true that a protestent might call them self a christian rather than a protestent. So as a result, if a catholic said “I am a christian” then you will be automatic assumed to not be catholic but just a christian (basically a protestent).
That is how it works socially. If you say that you are christian then people will over look the fact that you might be catholic. Usually… But you have to remember that we are in different countries, so social assumption is very different.
Again I want to say sorry, and I DO mean it. Some times catholics argue with me about silly things - so I am inclined to think they are being mean when if fact they are not…
God bless and don’t hesitate to privately mail me if you want to talk further. I am not anti - catholic.
