As you rely on the Bishops conference’s authority, several bishops were named individually.
The first article was USA Today. The other two came
CatholicCulture.org.
At least you admitted the bishops were not in full agreement, even though you tried to minimize it by referring to some bishops with a different opinion as ‘small handful of bishops’. It shows that there was in fact more than one opinion, and that our bishops were not united. Also, not all the bishops of different opinion ‘turned a blind eye to abortion’ as you call it, some spoke on the ‘common good’ as part of the weighing, specifying other important issues to be weighed.
