My error; thanks for the correction. And I believe she is married to a Jewish man as well, if that has any relevance.

Sure, Warren, like Sanders, will be portrayed as socialist even though Bernie continuously uses the term democratic socialist. That term will for sure be tossed about endlessly by Trump should Warren secure the nomination. I doubt Warren will actually use the term fascist if she should be the nominee, but, yes, I agree with you that, on the surface, it appears that’s how polarized and extreme we have become in the philosophies our two main parties represent.

I will not vote for Trump. Ever. So I’m left contemplating voting for the Democrat to keep trump out of power.

Catholics aren’t supposed to vote for democrats, but a whole lot of them do. If you don’t vote for them because of abortion, but in spite of it…

That’s what I understand: Catholics are permitted to vote for a candidate who supports abortion and a party that has abortion on demand on its platform, provided they are not voting for the candidate explicitly because of that issue but despite it and in response to other issues.

I have always voted Democratic since 1972 but I’m having a real tough time deciding on a suitable candidate and was thinking of voting third-party if a candidate with any kind of competence emerges, or even, G-d help me, for Trump as a last resort.

I agree with the last posts that Trump is divisive. However the one that is most divisive it is neither Democrat candidates nor the Republican President.

We have a 24/7 media that analyzed every word if every minute from every politician. Then the media has opinion pundits, contributors and anchors that twist the truth, sensationalize the story, on its words or informations and twist a narrative.

All of us get our news from one of this crazy nonsense and extremely bias sources. CNN hates Trump. MSNBC hates Trump. Fox News loves Trump, but I have seen many Democrats give their point of view on Fox.

Websites are even worst.

Then we come here and add our bias to the bias we got and what do we get?

A divided country.

I disagree that the media is more divisive than the President.

He sows chaos everywhere he goes. That’s his style. The polarization is a feature, not a bug , of his administration.

I disagree that the media is more divisive than the President.
One very good example: Charlottesville. The President Never said that white supremacist where very fine people, yet here we are, the media still stating that lie two years afterwards.

The Media says that President Trump has never denounced White Supremacy until the El Paso shooting, not true, He did so in Charlottesville, yet here we are again, the media pushing a lie.

I do not like President Trump way of speaking when it comes to his opponents. But I find the Democrat candidates worst. Because the Democrats are not only calling the president a White supremacist, they are labeling his supported also white supremacist. Calling Trump “Hitler” and Ice Facilities “Concentration Camps” And many left wing activist are calling for the eradication of of Trump supporters. Heck MSNBC has people saying that you do not engage with Trump supporters, but that you beat them.

Go to MSNBC front page and post a positive story for President Trump. Something that the president did good. Go to CNN and do the same. I doubt you will post anything in the next two years. Nothing.

But President Trump is the divisive one? I say he is part of it, but not the reason.

Rockoh, when the President talks extemporaneously, he says things that many take as racist or white supremacist. That is not the media’s fault. It’s his.

I am not a media apologist, but I think that reporting on what the President himself tweets or says is not divisive.

At the very least, Trumps remarks lent themselves to that interpretation; he specifically referred to the Friday night event in which:
Hundreds of white nationalists, some wielding torches, gathered at the University of Virginia ahead of Saturday’s larger rally. Their chants included phrases such as “white lives matter,” “you will not replace us,” and the Nazi-associated phrase “blood and soil.” The mayor of Charlottesville called it a “cowardly parade of hatred, bigotry, racism, and intolerance.”

Who were the fine people associated with that Friday night event?

Warren, on the other hand, is very smart and has some real ideas regarding the economy and several other issues.
Her ideas frequently don’t stand up to scrutiny, and I find she represents some of the worst aspects of Harvard elites, not the best. Biden would be a far better leader, he understands the concept of compromise.

Her really interesting ideas, like neutering some of the power of lobbyists, will never come to fruition for obvious reasons. Thus it’s a bad idea and just serves to pander for votes.

I agree 100% with you. But here is the dilemma.

Those screaming Trump white supremacist, all hate President Trump. I am speaking of News Media. They talk about Trump is a white supremacist 24/7, yet the country is not convinced.

If you ask a Democrat, Trump IS a Racist
If you as a Republican Trump is NOT a Racist

What I find more fascinating is that people of color defend president Trump. But they never appear in MSNBC or CNN.

Every time a person of color speaks out, the left immediately calls them racial slurs. Things I can not type here for I will be blocked.

I know many latinos who support president Trump. I have a friend in Texas whom I speak with often. He is latino and has a lot of illegal immigrant friends. I ask him, how are the political winds in that area. Guess what. Most of them support Trump.

President Trump has gotten more Black Support than any other recent Republican.

I can go on and on about the support president Trump gets amongst the minorities.

I spoke with my young adult child, and ask what they think about todays politics.

The answer, they are all lying. I asked who? the response was specific, all of them. The young people do not believe the news nor the politicians. They see the divide caused bu those in power. Media and Capitol Hill.

Look at what @dvdjs posted. He can not even agree that President Trump was taken out of context. And his opinion is that no matter what he says, it is racist in tone. I find that a total brain wash from the news.

I keep saying that I find President Trump rude and mean. But racist, homophobe, xenophobe, white supremacist, Hitler? No sir, those are very extreme and dangerous terms.

Here have a laugh at the ridicule of immigration policy.

Rockoh, so maybe Trump is worse than his supporters think, better than his detractors think, and the media needs to tell us about all sides of the issues?

the media needs to tell us about all sides of the issues
Oh, man, You will get from me an absolute resounding YES!

But that is not what we are getting. I say it a lot. Show us a good news from President Trump about the good he is doing from MSNBC or CNN. Not gonna happen. GO there and look at all they post. Trump is worst than Hitler. That is insane. Fox News goes the other way, but at least they have some articles that speak bad about him, now and then.

It is very hard to get past the extreme rhetoric of the media who is trying to cover the rhetoric of the president and when we talk we insert our own rhetoric. At the end what do we get? Trash talk.

He was not taken out of context. He very specifically referred to the the Friday night event when speaking of the fine people on both sides. I give him every benefit of the doubt that that was just a gaffe, and he meant people coming for the Saturday protest about the statue. But he is the one who made the gaffe and allowed its festering. Don’t blame the media for reporting what Trump actually says.

It’s funny how Paul Ryan understood what Trump meant, but still supporters deny it.

Yes, I’m sure the generation that has to put up with active shooter training in school because of the regular mass murders in schools will be impressed that you don’t like them given your view of such shootings.

They’ve been safe in all prior years, statistically speaking. Thus a few armed resource officers or teachers are more than adequate deterrence.

This pervasive threat is in your mind

you are projecting again, it’s only in your mind that everything revolves around these hourly school shootings.

Did my flag just hit too close to home for you?
Are you feeling ‘triggered’?

your defense of arms as a projection of your inadequacies.
Yes, you are projecting again. And you are kinda lame with your insults.

My arms are perfectly acceptable to me, just the right amount of hair and the right length. I don’t even object to the hair coverage.
