I have no idea where to post this, so the moderators can feel free to move this to whereever they wish.
I homeschool and we are covering ancient Greece. Doing research for our study, I came across the fact that five hundred Athenians were picked at random every year(I might have the term limit wrong) to serve on their senate. . Everyone had an equal chance to serve a year.
Would something like that work in a present day country?
What would happen if our senate was just picked from among the citizens of a country by random selection instead of voting?
I thought it was an interesting way to run a country.
