Regardless, a quick perusal of Catholics United’s web site makes it clear that the group is anything but politically neutral. For example, their open letter entitled “Catholics United Condemns Racism in GOP Primary”, claims that Gingrich and Santorum have been racist in their criticism of the current state of entitlements. That was an absurd talking point brought up a few weeks ago that only the most left-wing pundits were willing to parrot.

Catholics United has always been a leftist group promoting leftist goals at the expense of pro-life goals. It supported Democratic candidates in the 2008 election while downplaying abortion and downplaying pro-life issues. I see on its website that it is currently touting the HHS “compromise” as acceptable. Catholic in the name doesn’t mean it’s Catholic in the game.

Reminds me a little of this site: catholicdemocrats.org/index.php. they try to make Church teaching fit with the Democratic party platform. I mean, be Catholic first, then Democrat. But don’t support Democratic policies that are against the Church.
