Demonic Harassment/Oppression: The Ongoing Struggle

My day was a struggle.
I know what I need to do; I have been given specific examples and suggestions. Why don’t I do it then? Am I lacking the will? The desire? The motivation? I’m lacking something. I just lie in bed and stare into space. Yes, I want to be free from being a slave to sin, and free from this oppression. Why then do I not take action? I was a soldier in the Army once. I fear that I have no fight left in me though. I do feel encouraged by your correspondence, and even feel a glimmer of hope.

Have I been so subdued by the enemy that I am now unable to do what is necessary to help myself?

I am in a state of grace, and I want to remain in a state of grace. Is it that I don’t care? I know how our story ends, Jesus prevails. Why won’t I do anything to contribute to the advancement of the kingdom of Heaven?

Tomorrow is a new day though.
Please continue to pray for me.

Because battle in the spiritual requires many things, most importantly the ability to allow God to fill you up and move within you with his love and joy.

You cannot defeat those Turkies with their own methods. It won’t be your loud voice, strong emotions, intensity of affect or motivation that subdues them.

It will be Christ within you. It will be love within you. It will be joy, trust, and an undivided heart.

I have found that people often know what to do but what they lack is the love to do it. It is like driving a car with no gas. You got to fill that gas tank up. Some people have different problems. They have a leaky gas tank. They question and doubt the love they receive instead if just basking in it and enjoying it. Some add impurities to that gas or contaminants. They put things in themselves that are impure or diluted forms of love. Put the best gas in your tank.

Demons work on your mind and heart. First they want you to get used to their presence. Like they somehow belong there with you. They don’t. They generally slowly creep in one at a time until before you know it a house party is taking place. Sometimes you have to kick them out one at a time and make yourself realize that they do not belong there in your territory.

I have found that demons are mono thematic. They tell people the same stuff. Things like your no good. Your not worth it. You are not worthy of x y z. You are not lovable. You don’t know how to love. You will fail. Even if you do succeed you will eventually fail and it will be worse then before. Go kill yourself. Kill yourself!

They deprive you of sleep so as to weaken you. If you let them weaken you enough it makes it easier to possess you. To break down your will. They tell you to seek drugs, alcohol, sex, mediums for relief and answers so you will learn not to call out to the living God for your needs but the dead God of hell.

The sacraments of the Roman Catholic Church and the virtues of tradition and the holy bible are your armor and weapons.

Do not forget the help of other people!

Would you go into a battle with a one man fire team? Nope. Heck these turkies come in numbers, why don’t you get an infantry squadron of rosary praying Catholics to pray in your cabin?

Build up you fire team, your family, and pray as a unit.

So in short ask the Holy Spirit to fill you and indwell with you and to fill you with joy and love.

God is light and demons are darkness. Their weapons are of darkness and ours are of light.

Where they sow despair god grants hope (sexual purity and purity).

Where they sow anger and hate God grants forgiveness and love.

Where they sow confusion and doubt god brings understanding and revelation.

There are things here God wants to teach you. Ask him to tell you what that is and to help you learn and surrender to him and trust him.

And lastly remember that the greatest quality that the Blessed mother has that Satan hates is her great humility. Ask her to teach you humility. The face of Satan is marked by great pride. His pride is larger then his power.

Also know that demons are decaying desiccating beings. They are more pathetic then they are horrible. They retain their power but not their authority. They can only act with gods permission. Usually there is a legalistic point to their presence. Find out what that is and ask the advocate to help remove this legal right they have acquired.

Lastly sometimes we get used to a bad situation and may even be afraid to leave it. Sometimes the burdens of mental illness are more appealing then the burdens of mental health. Ask god to give you a mind for perfect victory.

Also, angelic combat is done by purity and debate or theology. When Jesus was tempted by satan he fought him with scripture.

Get into the word.

And remember your enemies only come at night. That gives you the whole day to lay a mine field and prepare.

Lastly, satan is a crafty Turkey. Even if you win he will try to make you think you failed or just had a partial victory. Yet, remember your victory is in Christ who has already won. All you must be is covered by his blood, confess him lord (and no others), and wait for him to act on your behalf. This takes patience, surrender, trust, and a deep love of god.

Keep repeating Jesus, I trust in You, as many times as you need to say it. Read a Catholic prayer book. I just received What Jesus Saw from the Cross as a gift. I will be reading that but there are many that would interest you. I am sure the priest helping you can recommend one. Your description of your situation is very detailed. It helps to know the problem to resolve it. You have been given the power to do that. Praying for you.

These things happen. You won’t be given more than you can handle.
Never give up.
Have you talked to an exorcist?

Jesus did not die on the cross, ascend into heaven, and leave us defenseless. Through the Church that Christ began, we have all of the weapons we need in your circumstance.

Thank you for your suggestions and your prayers. No, as of yet I have not been able to find an exorcist to look at my situation. I am continuing to look though. The priest I was working with for 6 years is no longer available to assist me; he said that I should, “just move out of that cabin, and occupy myself with other things so as to take my attention off of what’s going on.” I no longer feel one way or the other about his statement. I was thinking of writing a letter directly to the Vatican (not sure who/what office to send it to) and then continue to look for an exorcist myself in the meantime that my letter is read and responded to, if it would ever be responded to at all. I know its a long shot. Does anyone here know what Dioceses have an exorcist assigned to them? I don’t believe that very many do. I’m currently researching this, any help would be greatly appreciated. I am willing to travel, if need be. Since these things have happened to me at various places I have lived (even where I have stayed temporarily), I believe this to be demonic oppression, where the activity follows a person, rather than demonic infestation where it is specific to a place/location/building. In the meantime, with the help of this community and the grace of God, I crawled out of the valley I was in. I have resumed attending mass, my regular activities of daily living, and resumed looking for help. Just trying to keep on keepin on.

Demonic Oppression: Unjust or cruel exercise of authority or power by demon(s) to hurt, maim and kill human beings out of hatred for us & for God.

If you have not done so recently, re-read Job

There is Light ahead. Finding it depends more on you than it does on others. That said, prayers of others will be a big help. It’s happening for a reason.

Hey Brawny how is it going? Keep us updated on your progress.

OP, if I genuinely thought I was being oppressed by demons, I most certainly would go to a priest to have all of this addressed. After all, some things require the intercession of the Church, and there’s only so many prayers I, as a layperson, can offer. I certainly cannot look in the mirror and perform a minor exorcism on myself, and neither can I offer myself solid spiritual direction on all of this.

Have you sought out a priest to help you, or has this been a problem for some reason? My apologies if you’ve addressed this: I’ve not read all of the thread, but have only skimmed it thus far.

Curious why do you say psychiatry is a scam? What part of psychiatry? Consult liaison psychiatry? Forensic? Child and adolescent psychiatry? Geriatrics? Adult psychiatry?

Medications are controversial for some conditions because sometimes you only get partial remission, but for other conditions they are extremely effective and the only thing that works.

You can’t pray away bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, dementia, delirium, sleep disorders, personality disorders, couples issues, and a host of other things

Prayer and fasting does help with addictions (behavioral and substance) and anger and prayer can help with anxiety and unipolar depression but more is usually needed.

I doubt your an anti psychiatry scientologist, which is a cult with some serious problems. So I’m guessing it’s the ****** psychiatric care out there that has negatively impressed you.

All psychiatry which claims that drugs can “help” mental illness is a scam. Their entire theory is flawed. And im sad to see so many religious people fall for their lies. Psychiatry is based on atheistic materialistic philosophy. Which we know is false. It THINKS that mental illness is biological. This is FALSE. Mental illness is not biological. It is non physical since the soul is not merely a product of the brain. It is our thoughts and emotions which cause the chemical reactions in our brains. It is NOT the other way around. Chemical reactions dont just occur spontaneously. Therefore attempting to treat mental illness with pills is just numbing the physical symptoms. Youre better off medicating with alcohol. It has less side effects.
The true cause of mental illness is a dysfunction of the mind. Its when the mind develops a flawed perspective or a gets into some sort of dysfunction. The causes vary. Trauma, prolonged stress, negative psychological conditioning. The only way to
Truly heal mental illness is self realization. I dont believe in scientology ( although it does have some good techniques) I use the enneagram of personality. It is an excellent tool and I would recommend it to anyone. It has helped me immensely. It was actually first developed by early Catholic fathers. It is essential to understand yourself you ever.want to cure your mental illness and achieve a higher level of consciousness. Its too much. To fully describe here but the basic theory of the enneagram is that we are all born with s certain essence which is a holy idea. Over the course of life we lose touch with this holy idea and that is when our heads create an ego fixation and our hearts create a passion. Each type has its specific root sin and virtue. Your sin is actually your energies working in reverse. So for example someone with a root sin of envy has the virtue of equanimity. So the way to get back in touch with your holy idea is by following yout virtue. Itd like a little fairy in a dark cave leading you to the exit. Its very interesting I recommend you check it out.

The other important thing is prayer and fasting. The reason prayer and fasting are so important is because they strengthen the will power. I believe all mental illness is a result of a weakened will power. Think about it. Our spirit ( our will) is what controls our body and mind. Therefore prayer and fasting are not just helpful for addiction but mental illness too. ( and physical illness too since it detoxifies the body) you need to regain control over your mind. Plus if there are demons harraassing that person it is all the more useful m
You can overcome any mental illness with therapy and discipline.

Yes it is true that idle prayer doesn’t do much. But that is because those people have a misconception of how God works. The blessing probably will not fall out of the sky. Most of the time God expects us to do work for it. That is the way God created the world he wants us to work prayer gives us the tools but God expects us to work. That is why I get so annoyed with these people who pray all day but dont get up and do anything about their situation. You can pray a thousand rosaries but if you dont put in the effort things wont change.

People are so slothful these days. They want a quick fix. An easy solution. But that seldom exists. There is no " secret" to losing weight or making money
The " secret" is to work your *** off. Its the same with psychiatry ( and medicine). People want a magic pill. An easy solution. They dont want to deal with their problems and face them and wrestle with them head on. However the reality is that THE ONLY WAY OUT IS THROUGH.
That is what the enneagram taught me. Im a type 9. And I was at very unhealthy levels. ( type 9s have the root sin of sloth. It was horrible. I had multiple personalites. But I started following my virtue ( action) and I am now overcoming it all. And I never took a single medication!

The bible also really helped me ofcourse. " look to the ant you sluggard. Consider its ways and be wise! "

Brawny, i do know of an excellent exorcist in Nebraska. His name is Father Ripperger. He gives excellent talks on spiritual warfare, check him out on youtube and google. If you can get a hold of his email address, im sure he could at least direct you as to how you can find a competent exorcist. In the meantime, i will pray for you as well.

Even though the priest I had been working with for the past 6 years had already told me twice in the past that our diocese does not have an exorcist or deliverance ministry team, I wrote to my bishop anyway. I Just heard back from the Judicial Vicar of the diocese I live in yesterday. He said that he would speak with the priests involved with deliverance ministry and discuss how they can proceed with my case and then get back to me sometime within the next two weeks.

Still dealing with the activity that goes on in the cabin when I go to bed every night. A few nights ago at 2a my bed was jolted upward a couple of inches off the floor, which in turn sent me up off of the mattress a couple of inches. As soon as I hit the mattress the bed began to shake violently. Out of shock, fear, panic, I just automatically prayed to St. Michael the Archangel, and then prayed Hail Mary, Our Father, Glory Be, and all of the other prayers that were all mixed up in my head waiting to get out. I couldn’t pray fast enough. After about 20 seconds of being shaken in the bed, it stopped, but I continued to pray. I fell asleep praying as best as I can remember. So all of that was something new I hadn’t experienced before.

Thank you all for all of your prayers. I do believe that things happen for a reason, and at the right time, and God is never late. I will continue to keep you all posted.

Thanks, Brawny010

Hey Brawny,

I have a few resources and ideas that will definitely help if you implement them.

I was listening to Father Chad Ripperger just now. He’s an exorcist and very knowledgeable on all things demonic. So theres 3 things I’d recommend (his advice)

A) pray the divine mercy chaplet daily specifically to get rid of the oppressing spirits. You can start this immediately. He says it is a very effective prayer for deliverance from demonic oppression.
B) get 4 benedict medals, have them blessed with the old rite (which is more powerful) and bury them ne ar the 4 corners of your house
C) get holy water and make the sign of the cross on every
Door frame that leads outside.

Thats 3 things you can do.
Also, you can listen to 8 talks on spiritual warfare at sensus traditionus. This is Fr Ripperger’s site. (The exorcist). The talks are free to listen online but if you download them they cost a dollar or 1 decade of the rosary. The talks are extremely informative and very interesting but also very relavent. You’ll be a demon expert when you finish!

Hope this helps, praying for you,
God bless

Hello,

Just wanted to let you know that I have met with a member of the diocesan deliverance ministry team (priest) for an initial interview. Since then, I have had one meeting with him in his office, during which he prayed over me, blessed me with ‘Epiphany’ holy water, blessed my St. Benedict medal again (long version in Latin), gave me Communion and told me to stay focused on our ultimate goal of getting through this. He also said that I should be doing everything I can (attending confession and Mass and receiving Holy Communion regularly, praying, reading scripture, and using the ‘Epiphany’ Holy water he gave me) that would help us to achieve our ultimate goal.

The priest who is helping me has a parish that is only an hour away from where I live, where I use to attend Mass when there was a different parish priest there. Who would have thought that the help I need was so close all along? He is coming over to my cabin tomorrow morning.

Also, I feel that it is only appropriate for me to share with all of you that I am not just some random person that evil/the devil/demons chose to harass. In my younger days, I was involved with many non-Christian “things” which opened many doors for the evil one to get into my life; as I understand it, spiritual ‘legal rights’ have been given over to the evil one - to a degree - because of the things I have done / was involved with before becoming Catholic. The deliverance ministry team priest is helping me to deal with the immediate harassment, and also helping me to close those doors. Now as a Catholic Christian, knowing full well what I am doing, if I were to continue to engage in such things, then assistance would do little more than to push the enemy away for a short time. I must change my life, turn away from evil, and toward God. I share this because it is important for us to understand that we are / will be held accountable to God for all that we have done during our lifetime. After thinking about it for a while, I believe that it is a grace that has been given to me, an opportunity to deal with my transgressions while I am alive here in our world of time and space; before going before Jesus when I am done here to give an account of my life.

Thank you for your prayers and words of encouragement. The nightly harassment at the cabin has subsided for the past week, which has allowed me to stay rested, clear headed and ready to do/finish what needs to be done.

Peace - Brawny010

This sounds like the case in Indiana. The mother and her three children needed deliverance.

First let me say first off: if you give up, you go to hell. So I advise you not to give up, LOL.

Anyway, remember the words of the apostle about running the race. You need to finish strong, okay?

Now I know what you mean. The devil hits where it hurts, and he never gives up, though he has more than you to attend to, so you get him just every once in a while. Remember, angels, including demons, move at the speed of thought. I am CONSTANTLY, oh so constantly confronted with the stupid, idiotic demons. There is always one poking at me, so know the fight doesn’t end. I expect at my death Satan will send a whole litany of foul devils to devour me, so I KNOW I must strengthen myself in my prayers for those souls in Purgatory, maintain a vigil to Our Lady, and maintain myself in constant reception of the Blessed Sacrament, notwithstanding confession when necessary. With enough attention, one can become greater in God’s grace than all demons combined, so have heart! Know that God has equipped His Church with all that is necessary to do exactly what I have told you. So don’t give up, and pray at least the three Hail Marys morning and evening. May God be with you…

God is allowing these things to occur because you are feint of heart. I had an experience of correction by God when all the blood in my veins began to burn with the intense heat of hell. That woke me up real quickly, and I immediately swore to begin a devotion to Our Lady. Make good these moments, and you will succeed.

I really wish the best for you, and want to pray for you. So be consoled that at least I will offer up my prayers for your eternal salvation. Sorry for my harsh words…

Just curious. Where did the cabin enter into this? Have you lived there a long time?

Have you tried to go somewhere else for a while to see if this happens elsewhere? When did it all start?
