Occasionally, we wait for others to finish posting before jumping in.
I don’t know what you mean by “finish posting.” Is there some sort of “resting period” during which a posting is supposed to be sitting there and polite people are not supposed to respond to it? How is anyone supposed to know when you are “finished posting?”

He has as POTUS a responsibility to communicate clearly. He did not. His words were taken at face value, and in light of his history of remarks, and we’re criticized. The fact that one might have found some other meaning that was more benign is very nice. But not something that I expect in politics.

Frankly, it is something that doesn’t even happen here.
Tell that to Pope Francis, who is refusing to respond to the Dubia.

Not sure what this has to due with Pope Francis, his authority, and the authority of those questioning him.
Pretty sure my post was clear.

Pretty sure my post was clear.
It wasn’t to me. What does Pope Francis’s writing, and the Dubia have to do with Trump, the media, or Trump’s critics?
Should the Pope emulate Trump; should the Cardinal emulate the press? I really do not get your point.

Nothing.

Reread your post

Do you demand more of the POTUS than the Pope?

What qui_est_ce was getting at was the fact that Pope Francis has refused to clarify his statements in Amoris Laetitia that have divided the church one bishop against another even when formally requested to do so. If Trump is so much at fault for making an unscripted comment that could be misinterpreted, and which he clarified the next day, what does that say about Pope Francis? And would you apply the same criteria to him you applied to Trump?

What qui_est_ce was getting at was
Thank you for this clarification.
The POTUS is accountable to the people.
The pope is not.
It is the right and obligation of citizens to hold the POTUS accountable. The situation with the pope is less clear. There is grave risk in fancy ing yourself to be Catherine of Sienna, when you might in fact be Martin Luther.

Nevertheless both have a responsibility to speak clearly. I do not know if the pope spoke unclear on AL or that some oppose his clear teaching.

No problem condemning the NRA though…
You’re responding to a post by MonteRCMS, which was a response to a post of mine. I did respond to him, saying that I had already said whatever I had to say about MS-13, and that I wasn’t going to perform for him like a trained circus animal. Nowhere did I say anything good about MS-13, or refuse to condemn them.

His post is flat-out untrue.

That said, you’re right. I have no problem condemning the NRA. And that has what, exactly, to do with the subject of this thread?
