I think you’ll find it has rather more to do with the disgraceful slaughter of women and children in Gaza than with anything the Democrats have done.

Mike
Yes, the terrorism by Israel against innocents continues.

Good advice. This election 87% of the Jews voted Democratic, up from the 75% of past elections.

The era of the Christian Zionist Israel-can-do-no-wrong-ever is over.
You got that right - hopefully Christian Zionism is in retreat as it is a heresy.

Sure thats not the terrorism started by Islam that Israel is reacting to? If they did nothing… they wouldn’t exist right now. I think its good the USA supports them and I hope they continue to do so.
Yes, the terrorism by Israel against innocents continues.

So?

Anyways… God chose the Jews… reason enough for me.
Sorry, can’t prove a negative and I asked first. Since the Church supplanted Israel about 2000 or so years ago, why is it a good thing to support Israel?

Why is it good to be helping Israel?
The advantages of being pro-Israel is huge:
  1. Israel is a free democratic society like America, Canada, Australia, Sweden, Germany, Denmark and Turkey.
  2. Israel is 99% compliant with the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, while every Arab-majority society (except the new Iraq) is 0% compliant with human rights. This is proven by massive influx of Middle Eastern immigrants to the West from Arab-majority societies who are escaping Arab fascism, which is closely associated with Islam.
  3. Israel is multi-racial society and has 2 official languages, Arabic and Hebrew.
  4. Israel allows freedom of religion, such as freedom to build Christian houses of worship, freedom for Christian evangelism of Jews and Arabs alike, and freedom to renounce Judaism and Islamism.
  5. Supporting Israel (a.k.a. Zionism) is a sign of doing something right and you know that because you will be hated for not being a nationalist (ie Arabism or Islamism) but a supporter of a global church (a.k.a. globalism/imperialism) that has no loyalty to the nation, as exorted by Jesus when he said “my kingdom is not of this world”.
  6. Anti-Zionists are often sympathisers of Islamic racism towards Copts, Assyrians, Kurds, Jews and Berbers.
The advantages of being anti-Israel is also huge:
  1. You can help declare Arabic, the official language of the European Union (EU) and suppress every other Kafir culture.
  2. You can allow what Adolf Hitler failed to do - unite the White people under one common language, Arabic, which will allow us to worship in Allah instead of God.
  3. You can help revive the Islamic Caliphate that was disbanded after Christian Crusaders defeated the Ottomans in 1924 C.E.
  4. You can take pride to be Anti-Christian.

I think Israel’s treatment of palestinians has or will ultimately make the whole question of a Jewish state in the Middle East untenable.
The above comment is considered Anti-Semitic! The right for Israel to exist as a Jewish-majority State is an basic human right, just as the right for other ethnic groups (ie Copts, Assyrians, Kurds and Berbers) to exist without assimilation as Arabs is a basic human right. Ethnic assimilation was, is and will always be racism, and is no different from Nazism. Every Arab-majority State is racist except for the new Iraq.
In Isreal itself, Arab Israel’s are growing much faster than Jewish Israel’s and, by 2050, could be up to 40% of the population.
Then, why not provide funding to Catholic missionaries to convert the Arabs to Christ our Lord? Prosetylising Muslims is not illegal under Israeli law and its highly encouraged.
What does Israel do at that point? End its status as a democratic state state to prevent a Muslim electoral emergence?
Hmm…what does Christian France do if the Arab population (which is the largest in Europe) outnumbers Christians? Certainly, we will have to end democracy and establish a military dictatorship like Myanmar, which is governed by a Junta led by Gen. Than Shwe. Otherwise, we will become dhimmis in our own land, just as Copts, Assyrians, Kurds and Berbers.
As I said, history is not on Israel’s side.
I’ve already refuted what you said earlier. AFAIK, history was, is, and will always be on the side of Israel as the Jewish-majority State is free, secular, and democratic unlike its Arab-majority neighbours.

Palestine is a fictionous state, like Chechnya and Kosovo. It only exists in the minds of seperatists who do not wish to live within the framework of the 1993 Oslo Accords that allow for an autonomous province within Israel but not an independent state.

If we really want to give Palestinians independence, we should also give the Chechens and Kosovo Albanians independence from Orthodox Christian oppression. Else, its sheer hypocrisy and in fact, veiled Anti-Semitism!

Very well put.

  1. free of course so long as you are a non-arab jew
  2. 0% compliant? ever hear of lebanon?
  3. multi-racial in some sense, however they have a hatred for natives of the region and with the rise of Avigdor Lieberman, they may very well eject or kill anyone with arab blood
antiwar.com/justin/?articleid=9923
  1. what a load of lies. in israel you are arrested for 6 months and fined 10,000$ US if you try and convert a jew to christianity. also they have laws where if you are anything but a non-arab jew, you must carry a card that specifies your religon and/or background (think of it as israel’s yellow star) oh and don’t forget “the passion” was banned in israel so anyone who wanted to see that movie had to cross over into egypt, syria, or lebanon to see it
  2. zionism is a heresy, but more than a just a heresey since it has a dangerous side to it as well. church leaders, councils, and theologians have all denounced zionism, which is anti-christian, anti-orthodox jew, and promotes a nationalistic-racist idea of a secular paradise in creating an artificial state
  3. its actually the other way around

yeah thats all we need, an outside country interfering with our national sovereignty
While I understand that U.S. of A is a sovereign nation, I however, I do not see anything wrong with an outside country interfering with the internal affairs of U.S. of A, if it is a secular democracy, such as Israel, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Germany, Sweden and Britain.

Tell us why is it wrong for outside countries to interfere in the internal affairs of the United States of America?

Also, tell us why is it wrong for the United States of America to interfere in the internal affairs of outside countries?

The basis of all international law is a document called the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This document allows freedom of association, not merely within national boundaries but beyond it. Nationalism and national sovereignity is good only if we can build a global empire, where smaller states patronise us. For example, Afganistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Israel, and Saudi Arabia are U.S. proxies.

As Christians, we should give our support to Israel and any country that is a secular democracy because such a country is certainly pro-Christian and has sympathy with our cause.

p/s Israel was given mandate as a nation in 1948 by the will of Jesus our Lord and God. And no, I am not an American “Zionist” or dispersionist but a Malaysian citizen. Zionists exist everywhere, even in Iraq. For example, the current President of Iraq, Jalal Talabani is Zionist who supports diplomatic ties with Israel - he is NOT an Arab but a secular Kurd.

Yes it is. And slaughtering women and children in Gaza is hardly following it.

Mike

And the “Palinstinians” trying to blow up Israel and any Jew they come across is hardly following it.

No, indeed the Palestinians need to move towards peace too. But right now, Israel holds all the cards, and the Palestinians have next to nothing.

CAUTION

If you bring up a topic and say it that the Catholic Church says it is heretical, please provide a link to a Magistarium document on the topic saying it is a heresy.

More importantly: Stay on the topic of the original post!

Israel should not be receiving 35% of American foreign aid. Like what is that about? The US is on the wrong side of history if it keeps up this one-sideed pro-Israeli policy. The scales will hopefully be somewhat balanced now with a divided US governemnt… I’m happy Isreal may be concerned - cause maybe that means a more balanced approach to the Israeli/Palestinian situation.

I voted Dem for the first time in 10 years. If I see changes on foreign policy to Israel and other countires forced by the Dems I may just vote Dem again on 2008.
I wish to first say, I support Israels right to exist and legitimately defend itself.

With that out of the way, I agree. I also think its time for the U.S to stop having this support Israel “uncondtionally” approach.

So?

Anyways… God chose the Jews… reason enough for me.
Yes, He did. He chose the Hebrews and established the Jewish religion to pattern His plan for salvation and provide the pattern for His Kingdom. He also chose the Hebrews as the people through whom the Messiah, Jesus Christ, would come. Since Christ instituted the New Covnenant at the first Mass (Holy Thursday, the night before He was crucified) and by His sacrifice on the Cross, they became subject to the terms and conditions of the New Covenant, just like we Gentiles are. That’s why the temple veil was rent in twain.

So, again, why is it necessary or good for the United States to support Israel today?

I think the Jews have reason to worry.

I think this is correct.

The new wind blowing out of Washington will easily cast weak Israeli prime minister asunder

JewishWorldReview.com | Many downplay the significance of the US Congressional elections. It is the six-year slump, they say. But the truth is nonetheless glaring. By all accounts, Tuesday the George W. Bush era came to a close.

But I still think God is on the throne even if some of our electorate are willing to throw all the Jews under the bus.

Do you only have a problem with money going to Israel? What about Egypt, Jordan, Columbia, etc.?

I never understand all of the focus people have on aid to Israel. Yes, it is the largest, but Egypt is not far behind…that would be the land God led them out of. 🙂

I think the real reason is plain - he has a problem with money going to Israel because he hates Jews but loves Arabs and their racist Palestine Authority. This type of racism is called indirect Anti-Semitism and usually such people pretend that they do not hate Jews, they simply hate Israel.

The BIG problem is these types of Anti-Semites do not show any hatred for the fascist Arab regimes that commit apartheid towards Copts, Assyrians, Kurds, and Berbers. Israel is the only secular democratic society in the Middle East that is multi-racial and has 2 official languages, Arabic and Hebrew. On top of that other ethnic minorities such as Copts and Assyrians enjoy equal rights with two major ethnic groups, Jews and Arabs.
I never understand all of the focus people have on aid to Israel. Yes, it is the largest, but Egypt is not far behind…that would be the land God led them out of. 🙂
Let me try to make you understand, ok? Explicit Anti-Semitism in the West is dead as denying the Nazi Holocaust is a crime. So, these Anti-Semites resort to indirect Anti-Semitism, Israel bashing, instead of Jew bashing.

The White-supremacist British National Party led by Nick Griffin changed his strategy after his conviction of the crime of Holocaust denial. He no longer condemns Jews but Israel instead. BNP leaders regularly attack Zionists and condemns Israel as an apartheid state and calls it to be dismantled. Is that not irony since BNP itself is an apartheid party like Hamas, Hizbullah, Taliban and Al-Qaeda? As far as I see it, Nick wants to repeat another Holocaust on the Jews by the Arabs, and methinks every Christians must condemn without hesitation neo-Nazis and Arabists groups as racist.

Let us pray that humans will work towards a secular, democratic, plural Middle East that is modeled like USA, Israel and the new Iraq. I love particularly the new Iraq, which has 4 national languages, Kurdish, Arabic, Turkish and SYRIAC. This is the first time in 1,000 years of Islamic colonism, Syriac, the mother tongue of the Assyrians, an Oriental Christian people is recognised by the government.

Assyrian Christians, just like their Kurdish Muslim brethren love Israel because it is a symbol for hope for the Middle Eastern peoples.

if people want to know what zionists really think of christians, consider the fact israel wants to wipe lebanon, the most christian populous nation in the middle east, off the map
