The whole world is going to hell in a handbag, but hey, its what God wants, cuz the end game according to Revelations is right on track its preordained…NOTHING in it says there will be an entire about face if mankind shapes up presenting us with an alternative world…it basically says no matter what we do its gonna happen anyway. Total collapse, period of peace, antichrist…the end. I havent read, turn it all around, no total collapse ALL PEACE, no antichrist, no end. Its like how a talented director approaches pre planning making a movie…its ALL STORYBOARDED out ahead of time.
That may be true but that doesn’t give us an excuse to try and not stop that from happening. There is an end and there may be an antichrist, etc… but what happens to us, our reactions, are all up to us, to make the right decisions or to choose a bad decision or a little of both.

If this is true then I will never let my girl be a Girl Scout. That is of course, if I ever have a girl.

It really just depend on the area that you live in and who is the troop leaders and such. I am an ex-girl scout from Iowa in what they used to call the Mississippi Valley Girl Scouts. My mom was a leader for several years and this never came up. If this issue is true, then it is of recent changes in certain areas within the United States, but not necessarily all.
If the tree is diseased, it will eventually affect all the fruit!

Things must be pretty slow in Denver if all the Bishop has to worry about is little girls selling cookies…

Yes, my daughter went through Girl Scouts and my wife was one of their troop leaders and I guarantee nothing like this would have been tolerated in her troop. :(

I think he’s worried about them being poisoned by the Culture of Death and he’s warning Catholic parents, but I suspect you knew that.

I, too, was a Girl Scout (technically still am since I got a lifetime membership upon my high school graduation). And, I, too, had positive experiences in troops led by godly women that focused on positive qualities and didn’t discuss immoral subjects.

However, the issue here is not at the troop level, it is at the national and international levels. The seminar where the PP brochure was handed out was at a WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts) event. And there is a very liberal agenda pushed by the higher up levels.

So, while troop leaders can maintain a positive and moral environment for their small group of girls, they do not have control over what the girls are exposed to if/when they attend national or international events. And this can lead to some confusion for the girls. Because, if they are involved in this organization and their moms/churches/schools support their involvement, then what happens when they are exposed to some of the filth that is out there? They might think that it is okay and also condoned by their troop leaders and parents.

Though my experiences were positive, and helped to for me into the woman I am today, I have decided to no longer support the Girl Scouts. I, too, miss their cookies, but as a prolific cookie seller myself, I know how the money is distributed. Troops get very little of the cookie money. The rest goes to production, packaging, marketing, and to the local council and national organization. Knowing what the national organization is up to and encouraging, I do not want my money going there.

Ok I read the article. Seriously? Now how old are girl scouts supposed to be? Catholic or not, I’d expect a lot of parents to be upset if their little girls were given something that said, “There is no right or wrong way to have sex. Just have fun, explore and be yourself!” That’s just messed up.

Ah hah! This proves my conspiracy theory that Planned Parenthood is not just killing babies, they’re population control advocates. Why else would they tell someone to have intercourse with someone despite the high chances of getting HIV?
Uhhh, duh. They’ve admitted as much. Planned Parenthood was started because they felt “the wrong people were having children.” Planned Parenthood is NOT primarily about abortion–they’re primarily about social engineering. Always have been. Abortion is just one of their tools.

The flippancy of your comment does nothing to enlighten us, especially in view of the fact that the Girl Scouts are listed on the Boycott List published by Life Decisions Internat’l which states the Girl Scout organization allows Planned Parenthood access to members. No troop can be immune from harm since they do not decide policy on a national, or even higher, level.

I’m glad this sickness hasn’t gotten to the Boy Scouts, I just got my Eagle and am now working on the Pope Pius XII religious emblem
😃

This started back in the 1980’s. They once had a badge earned by visiting a prostitute. I don’t know if they still do. The local chapters may not be bad but they support the upper levels and they ARE bad.

I am a Catholic Christian Conservative and I worked in the Girl Scout office for five years. Although they claim not to “take sides” on contraversial issues, I was reprimanded for actually recommending a good movie in a staff e-mail newsletter. The movie, “Bella” is about an unwed mother who gave her baby up for adoption rather than have an abortion. Other “liberal” activities were not discouraged in the Girl Scout Office. Planned Parenthood IS one of many “partners” of Girl Scouts. I don’t believe the Girl Scouts are responsible for Planned Parenthood’s immoral activities, but I do think they keep a blind eye to the harm that might be done to young girls by allowing them to distribute questionable advice to young women.
