I have to disagree. Can you tell me what happened to Fr. Santoro. What did he do to deserve death by these lunatics.
Actually unlike other places in the middle east the person responsible will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I don’t recall the nun’s killers being prosecuted. Turkey does not stand for this nonsense. Actually Europe is far more permissable to radicial Islam than Turkey it was a lone abberation that is being taken care of we would only hope other places in Europe and the Middle east would prosecute their radicial extremist. No place is immune to radicial Islam not even the United States if you have not noticed what you can judge a country by is how they react to such violence do they look the other way and not investigate as SOmalia has done with nun or do they prosecute to the fullest extant of the law like Turkey. As far as Islamic violence Turkey is not even on the radar compared to western Europe and espeically the middle east. You shouldn’t judge by the exception to the rule but what is normal.

They don’t hesitate to bring up the Cruisades or witch burnings when the topic turns to Christianity.
Yeah they got to bring up things from 500 years ago in Christiantiy, we can just look at todays paper to see the horrors of Islam. Violence is not endemic to Christiantiy in fact it is an abberation during short periods of history in Islam it is constant and a tenant of the faith known as jihad. Crusade is not a tenant of the Christian faith and never has been although it could be argued it was defensive in nature to begin with.

Given that Mohammad had at least nine wives and dozens of slave-girls, its amazing that there are not tens of thousands of his descendants around today

Imagine how many decendents Briham Young and Joseph Smith have!

I had a Muslim try to “accidentally” knock me over at work when he saw a cross around my neck. They don’t seem like very nice people at all.

For in Islam it doesn’t matter *why *you convert, just that you do.
That’s pretty obvious… how do you think the whole 72 virgins, and unlimited booze thing in heaven got started in the first place? (I realize you know this already, I’m just thinking out loud :o )

Seriously, though… If you pay close attention to the way they proselytize this will become apparent enough. Keep track of how many points they make are based on logic or objective truth, and how many are just subjective selling points.

There probably are, and they just don’t know it. Heck, I know I wouldn’t exactly be wearing it on my sleeve if I found out I was descended from that lunatic!! 😦

Wisdom,
In Turkey Catholicism isn’t allowed legal status. Converts are persecuted and murdered. I could be arrested if I went there to evangelize. This is much like the rest of the Islamic world today.

Once a Muslim asked me to convert because I could marry up to 4 wives. I said to him that one wive is crazier enough not alone 4 wives. Plus, if i like many wives, I could move to Utah. I shutted him up.

Certainly Islam is alluring to a particular type of man.

I don’t care to argue any points, because some good ones are made.

But does anybody really think any muslim is going to read this thread and be impressed at the difference Jesus has made in our hearts?

Its hard to be both firm with truth and charitable in discussion. Let’s try harder to do both!

If something has been stated here that is false or “uncharitable” make it known right here. Too many people already believe this false front Islam is trying to put up…

There are two things I need to say:
  1. ISYS’s choice of Hitler of all people to try and smear Christianity is an interesting one, seeing as how most Muslims practically worship Hitler for killing off so many Jews. It is rare that one will admit it publicly, but it happens every now and then and if you get to know Muslims long enough in your life it will start to make itself apparent anyway. It’s evidence enough that Mein Kempf is a best-seller in many Muslim countries.
  2. He is cleverly (I guess he thinks) avoiding the distinction that must be made between a “nominal” follower of a religion and one whose actions primarily derive from what their religion teaches. Any sane person knows the stuff Hitler is famous for was not derived from Christianity, so if anyone claims otherwise he is either too deluded to see the world for what it is, or just outright lying without much hope of anyone falling for it. There doesn’t seem much point in even talking to such a person in either case.

manual, do Muslims think by posting about Christian converts to Islam that somehow they are going to impress us? This post mirrors theirs also it shows what happens when one of them converts. They risk their very lives. Which is worse, hurt feelings or death by stoning?

The way I look at it is that some Christians may have a faltering faith because they’ve been taught by liberalistic/relativistic teachers - where they doubt that *any *faith can claim the truth.

Moslems are prone to publiclly support anything that undermines Christianity - such as pro_universal’s posts regarding the Trinity on another thread.

It therefore is important for Christians to show here that there is a case *for *Christianity. Some Christians may have their faith strengthened by seeing answers to these questions.

I think it’s important to show Christians that even a descendant of the Islamic prophet can convert to Christianity. It shows that Muslims can be converted.

I would like to keep this on page one for a little while in order to give Muslims a good chance to see it.

I agree with you 100%.

The ironic thing is that the first people to go in a Muslim-dominated society would be the very liberals that are aiding them in undermining Christianity.

As for the descendant of Muhammed converting to Christianity, this is wonderful news but how do we know this is a direct descendant of Muhammed? Also considering how many wives and other girls/women he had children with, isn’t it possible that half of the Middle Eastern population can trace their lineage back to Muhammed? In that case we could have thousands if not millions of converts to Christianity from Islam who are descendants of Muhammed, couldn’t we?

That’s a happy thought. We welcome Muhammeds kin by his many wives and slaves and captives. They can all join the Church.
