Hi Diane,
I don’t know what your state/county allows. When I received food stamps and $200, the
county carried me until my disability was determined.This was 8 years ago. I had to apply
for disability 3 times. The third time I hired an attorney. I won a “fully approved” ruling.
Once that was accomplished the county was repaid, my attorney was paid and I received
$9,000.
Is there a legal aid group for lor low income persons. I used ours twice. Also section 8,
in Sacramento, CA, provides rent for $275/mo. I will be moving in a couple of months to a
“section 8 senior apartment”. I don’t have to have section8 personally, the entire building
is section8. Tenants must be 62 or older. I turned 62 last December. I hope this info is of
help.
