Loving God,

We pray for strength and courage for our sister Diane. She feels very alone now, maltreated, abused, and is carrying a very heavy cross including much resentment about her situation. Lord, please ease up on her and help her once again to feel the tender love and affection you have for her. The challenges and worries and anxieties of this life will all seem very small when we have our chance to live with You and to be with You, dear Lord. This promise is not enough to help our sister at the moment, so please grant her mercy, blessings, and send your consoling and comforting Holy Spirit to be with her. Help her to make ends meet, find work, and let go of the anxieties about her family life. Please grant the prayers of your people on behalf of our sister in accordance with your Holy and perfect will. Please help our sister, O Lord of compassion, unconditional love, and eternal salvation.

Amen.

Loving God,

Our Pastor, Father Al, sends out a weekly e mail on the readings for reflection. I don’t think he would mind if I share it with our sister, Diane, in the hopes it may help her in her current situation.

THE SPIRITUAL JOURNEY
More than the other evangelists, Luke emphasizes that Jesus’ death wasn’t a capricious event but was the plan of God. We have a good example of that in Sunday’s Gospel passage [Lk 24:35-48]. The Risen Lord has appeared to His disciples on Easter evening: And he said to them, “Thus it is written that the Christ would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day….
God used the death of Jesus for the salvation of the world. In a similar way the tragedies, the sinful choices (our own or those of others which affect us], the sufferings of our lives are used by God to bring about a greater good. In this way the Lord’s own passing over through death to life becomes a key paradigm for our lives.
Something occurs. Inevitably we ask, what’s happening here? What’s going on? If the situation is bad, we can interpret it in several ways. Perhaps God is angry with me. Perhaps I’m being punished for something. Perhaps there’s no God and we’re all at the mercy of fate.
Or we can reason: God allows human free will. I’ve made some poor choices, or others around me have made poor choices which impact me. But “death” does not have the final word. I’ll watch for the greater good that God wants to bring from this suffering. I’ll wait for the “resurrection.”
The next time something bad happens, tell yourself: the pattern of Christ’s death and resurrection is at work here. I’ll be faith-filled and courageous in the suffering and look for the God’s redemptive action.

Praying for healing for our sister, Diane. Amen.

You remain in my prayers as well as the prayers of many. If this has been a struggle with faith, what would it have been without? Ask for strength. Beg for strength. You will receive it.

Our Father, which art in Heaven
Hollowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done
On earth as it is in Heaven

Give us this day, our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us

Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil

Amen

I know I have been posting about how awful things have been with Joe, me and mom. I just got off the phone with Joe. He is in the hospital and they told him he is dying. Apparently the cancer has spread. We talked for a long time and I told him I would come up there because I would always love him and if nothing else I could just hold his hand. Yes, I have been so bitter and have said some and thought some really bad thoughts …you know the old adage…be careful what you wish for because you just might get it. I don’t want him to die and they are talking about hospice now. PLEASE PRAY PRAY PRAY FOR HIM…I told him about all the miracle Jesus performored in his short life on earth. I told him we work all our lives to lead good lives and follow God’s commandments to have eternity with God in heaven but when that time gets close to us…we get scared of the unknown…I reminded him to have Faith. Believing without seeing. PLEASE PRAY FOR HIM…I asked him if it was ok if I flew up there to be with him and he was crying through the whole conversation…he said “not yet”…and of course he said it would be too expensive (which it is but I can make it somehow)…I told him that If it were only to hold his hand and be by his side that is what I wanted to do. I need some urgent prayers for Joe. I am trying to contact our old parish priest whom we dearly loved that moved to Philly to get him to go by and see Joe. His name is Fr. Keating…Please pray that Fr. Keating calls me back and will go to see him. I am so worried…PLEASE HELP ME AND JOIN ME IN PRAYERS> Diane

O My God …
Diane is suffering for she’s not near her beloved Joe, her husband, in this hard situation. You have joined them for years, and what you have Joined no power can seperate it. So help her my God, let her stand beside her husband. let her see him, touch him, his hand, and face. At least, let Fr. Keating be with him.I beg you our blessed Mother, to be with Joe, and Diane in these moments, you Mother of Mercy. Give this couple strengh and patience.

Our Father, which art in Heaven

God bless you my dearest Diane

Again I beg you my god to help your daughter Diane and your son Joe. They need your help right now. Don’t leave them alone struggling in this hard situation. I ask you that in the name of your son, Jesus the savior.

I beg you our blessed mother to hold Joe and Diane’s hands together. They need your mercy and Love.
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never
was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored
thy help or sought thy intercession was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of
virgins, my Mother. To thee I come, before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise
not my petitions, but in thy mercy, hear and answer
me. Amen.

but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will,
which is love and mercy itself.

I just found out that the cancer has spread from the pancreas to the liver and kidneys. Joe prognosis is 6 months and he says he “is not ready to die”. The hospital wants him out since “there is nothing else they can do for him” and the whole family is in turmoil. There will be a meeting among Joe, drs., his son tomorrow. Please pray…Fr.Jim hasn’t called me back yet. Dear God. Please bring Fr. Jim to me by phone so he can see Joe at the hospital. I think Joe feels he has unfinished business in that he has been so sick he has not joined a catholic church there yet. Please, God, bring Fr. Jim to his rescue to bring Joe peace. The drs. want to put Joe on a morphine drip now and Joe is crying all day long. The nurses told the family they feel so saddened for him because they hear him crying. Please God come to his rescue and let him feel the warmth of your love and the gift of the Holy Spirit. Please help him not to be afraid…Please God, I am begging for your help. In the name of the father, son and holy spirit…amen

Diane, please be comforted by the words of Christ:

Matthew 9 Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town. Some men brought to him a paralytic, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.” At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, “This fellow is blaspheming!” Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins…” Then he said to the paralytic, “Get up, take your mat and go home.” And the man got up and went home.

By the faith of his friends, the man was healed. And by the faith of others,we can also be healed. But God’s will is impossible for us to know. Whether the healing is physical or spiritual remains to be seen, but healing will occur according to prayer.

Merciful Father, we come before you in faith and love, praising and blessing Your name for the goodness which we have received. See the thankfulness in our hearts, for we exist because of Your Divine love. Lord, Diane and Joe have been tested mightily this past year. As the farmer waits after sowing, so You wait for our response to Your will. Hear our petitions, O Lord, as we also await the next revelation. We seek that Joe’s relationship with You is restored, bringing all of the blessings that accompany it. We seek strength for both of them, so that they will bear up in love throughout this entire ordeal. We ask this through our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen! Alleluia!

Mother Mary you once did something really great for me when i was desolate.
Please help Diane and Joe, and please take everything in hand as it’s all so confusing and hopeless unless heaven is helping. Think how you felt. You must have foreseen and heard things and known what Jesus was headed towards and it must have broken your heart. Please help. Please Mother

Dear Diane,

I will keep you and Joe in my prayers. I am so sorry about Joe`s prognosis. I will keep praying for both of you.

Sincerely,

Maria1212
