Dear Diane,
You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. I wish I had better words of comfort and solace. But you are in my prayers and my heart aches for you.
If it is any consolation, Joe`s decision making was probably very clouded toward the end due to his illness and all the medications he was taking. That might have made him all the more vulnerable to his children taking advantage of him, and you.
Gods love is the only love that will never fail us. People always disappoint. Just because Joes love disappoints, does not mean God does not love you, or that you are not worthy of love.
I am sorry you are suffering so much. While our circumstances and places in life are very different, I know what it is like to have everything fall apart. And i know the stress that the burden of debt brings. But as they say, when you die, you cant take it with you. That goes for riches and for debt. So we do the best we can today, we try to be as responsible as possible, but we cant do much more than that. And at the end of the day, the way we love God, and the way we love our neighbor, means so much more than out “net wealth” on paper. I know it is stressful to not be able to provide for one`s self, and must be so much more stressful when you need to take care of your Mom and other family members. But please hold your head up high, and be proud of the person you are. Your debt and material possessions do not detract from the wonderful Catholic Christian woman you are.
I will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers.
Sincerely,
Maria1212
