Yes, a lot to reflect on.
Really makes me wonder.
What exactly did Jesus say to the young man? Matthew 19:21. “If you want to be perfect, go, sell all you have…”
The question could arise: is it ok to be less than perfect and still value God MORE than the possessions?
But then, Matthew 5:48: “Be perfect therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect”.
So the goal IS to be perfect.
But God also knows that we are humans, right?
But maybe this isn’t the question here. The question I actually wanted to ask, is: If you are not absolutely sure that God would WANT you to detach from something, then should you feel you need to detach from something that gives you joy? (not speaking of possession now. Detaching from possession in the sense of REALIZING that they are temporary, not holding on to them, being open to sharing… is I would say always good!

I am talking about hobbies, relationships, little joyful habits you look forward to, all of these of course morally ok things (if it is somebody’s joyful habit to tease somebody in a mean way, or watch sinful movies, of course that is NOT good, for example).
I guess my point is: If you KNOW something is NOT GOOD in the eyes of the Lord, then you should try to get rid of it, right? But if it is in itself something POSITIVE, something that gives you meaning, something that helps you relax… ok, then maybe detachment would just mean not forgetting that all earthly joys are from the Lord and that the real joy comes from the Lord… and not forget to pray and give time to the Lord … that is, for example, not to get so tangled up in these things that you don’t pray at all anymore

Hey, maybe it is an attitude thing?
If we do all things in a spirit of gratefulness and as part of a life that has at its center GOD… then that is totally different from doing exactly the same things but living superficially and seeing the meaning of life ONLY in these joys. Maybe that is one main point here?
