Many prayers for our forum brother, Alex B. I heard at today’s service that he is in the hospital with a concussion.

Lord, send St. Raphael, archangel, to bring heal to him and his family. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Most sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on us. O Sacred Heart of Jesus, we place our trust in thee.

Please pray for AlexB. He really needs the prayers.

May Our Lady of Lourdes, Mother of the sick intercede for him.

First of all, thank you all for your prayers…I’m back in good health now…and back with more news.

As many of you know, Bishop Boyea is a frequent celebrant at St. Josaphat. He was there on Dec. 10 and Feb. 18, and is planning on returning on Easter Sunday.

This weekend, March 4, Bishop John Quinn will be our celebrant. We haven’t seen him in a while, so let’s welcome him back. It is pretty unusual that auxiliaries would celebrate Mass for a Tridentine community so often. It seems like they come four or five times per year. Pretty neat!

An idea regarding the Rosary before Mass has been brought to my attention. It has been suggested that we should pray the Rosary in Latin. Personally, I think its a great idea. However, I want to know if that would be okay with others in our community. So, if anyone from our community would like to respond to this idea please feel free to do so.

That sounds like a good idea, however maybe you should print up cards with the words on them, in English and Latin, and maybe Latin and Spanish, and Latin and any other language that congregants might use.

Well, according, the Tridentine Community page at St. Josaphat will be printing the Rosary prayers in Latin in a few weeks.
So, it has been decided to implement the Latin Rosary before Mass starting in May.

Two items of note:

On Good Friday, St. Michael’s in Windsor will hold a Tridentine Latin Good Friday service at 5:00 PM. This is the only Tridentine service in the Detroit area over the Triduum. Directions are at www.windsorlatinmass.org.

On Easter Sunday, Detroit Auxiliary Bishop Earl Boyea returns again to St. Josaphat to celebrate a Pontifical Low Mass at 9:30 AM. Bishop Boyea has been celebrating the Tridentine Mass approximately once per quarter, which is extraordinary considering the schedule of an auxiliary.

A special choir will accompany both of the above services. We hope you can come!

Can anyone tell me what time the Ascension TLM at St. Josaphat in Detroit will be on Thursday? I saw that they have Mass listed on the Detroit Latin MAss website, but I do not know what time.

Thanks and God Bless!

The Ascension Thursday TLM at St. Josaphat will be held at 7:00 PM. In general, all Holy Day Masses except Christmas and Jan. 1 will be held at 7:00 PM.

Who writes up the Tridentine News page every week? They do a fine job.

Ummm…I do. Fr. Mark came up with the idea of the column, then twisted my arm to write it. The column is now distributed in Windsor as well as Detroit.

Guest columnists are always welcome…E-mail me if you’d like to write one up. Sooner or later, I’m going to run out of topics!

I enjoy reading it every week Alex. Keep up the good work (and pace yourself).

Did I hear Fr Borkowski right, we can now have weddings and baptisms according to the traditional rite? That’s great news! When did the archdiocese decide to allow that?

Weddings, Baptisms, and Penance. The Cardinal’s letter arrived this past Monday.

There will be a meeting of the St. Josaphat Tridentine Community on July 1 after Mass to discuss this and other recent developments. Please try to attend.

Fr. Borkowski was on The View From the Pew with Elaine Babbish today on Michigan Catholic Radio discussing our cluster. It will be replayed Tuesday between 9:30-10am on 1090am in Metro Detroit and live through their website.

Big news from Windsor:

Next Sunday, June 3, the Windsor Tridentine Mass is relocating to Windsor’s largest and most historic church, Our Lady of the Assumption, located right at the foot of the Ambassador Bridge on the campus of the University of Windsor. The Mass time remains at 2:00 PM.

Assumption is Windsor’s best possible site for the TLM, with a magnificent sanctuary, a top-notch 3 manual Casavant organ, great acoustics, and a whole parish campus incorporating a park ideal for outdoor processions and an Adoration Chapel.

St. Josaphat music director Wassim Sarweh has re-joined Assumption as TLM Music Director and has assembled a professional choir.

On June 10, there will be a First Communion and Corpus Christi procession. Within a few weeks, a Solemn High Mass will be held. Of course, this is the place to come to read about events as they are scheduled.

Read more here.

Well, the Corpus Christi processionf for both St. Josaphat and Assumption were very nice.

Anyone in our community out there have any comments?

If anyone wants to look at photos from the Assumption Grotto Corpus Christ Procession, I noticed that someone has posted theirs on line. The priest holding Jesus is one of the OA priests, Fr Seitz, and in some you can see our pastor walking next to him, Fr. Perrone, and our own Deacon Wilder.

**There will be a Tridentine Town Hall Meeting on July 1, 2007 after Mass. **
Please plan on attending
