In my family small sausages wrapped in bacon are called “devils on horseback”. They look neither like devils or anything else on horseback!
Not necessarily. However, it does make your mom the mother from Hell!My mom was born in Hell, Michigan!
Does that make me - wait for it - the daughter of the devil?

Is it a bad sign if I prefer the rich decadent chocolate of devil’s food cake to the fluffy light airiness of angel food cake?Make two cakes as a metaphor: one with Devil’s Food Cake and the other an Angel Cake. Of course, then you have to struggle with the free will decision of choosing which cake to eat.![]()
Wow!At the winery where I work, we sell a cheese called “Queso del Diablo” (Devil’s cheese) because it’s made with ghost chile from India (which makes habanero peppers seem like bell peppers!) Our cheesemaker puts 16 oz. of ghost chile powder per 100 lbs. of cheese to make it (we have a “milder” one that has 8 oz. ghost chile per 100 lbs. cheese.)
Both have been known to bring people to their knees and beg God for mercy and relief!![]()

Even better, Luna, your DH can call your mother the “mother-in-law from Hell” and get away with it!Not necessarily. However, it does make your mom the mother from Hell!
There’s also a Canadian military unit that was nicknamed “the little black devils”: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Winnipeg_RiflesRelated to my Devil Dogs comment above: If I remember correctly, there was an American squadron of World War II fighter pilots who had the nickname “the Devil Dogs” because they’d taken down so many enemy targets.
Or maybe just a hell of a great mother? Not necessarily. However, it does make your mom the mother from Hell!
Me too. How else would we use up the dyed Easter eggs?Or deviled ham?
We eat deviled eggs every Easter!
thisYou need to see a priest about your scrupulosity asap.

Ta-da-da-dum-dum! We’ll be here through Sunday, ladies and gents! Don’t forget to tip your waitress! :tiphat:Or maybe just a hell of a great mother?![]()
It’s all over for you. The flames of perdition await. And if there’s a Harry Potter endorsement on the front of the cake box or some kind of free toy giveaway, you’re doubly doomed. Is it a bad sign if I prefer the rich decadent chocolate of devil’s food cake to the fluffy light airiness of angel food cake?![]()
How so?I hope the OP is in fact joking, because the responses are most uncharitable.
I’m sorry you didn’t get a serious answer. Here is my serious answer. The responses from some people on this thread are more than a little bit disappointing. I certainly would have expected more from other Catholics. I don’t think I will be posting again.
