Just recently, I’m having a problem with calling on our Mother for spiritual help. It seems a part of my heart could not accept that aside from God, you also have to pray to Mary to help overcome your sins or impurities. It’s as if to me that God’s power/grace is not enough and that I also have to call for the assistance of “only a human”. I used to say the rosary but have since stopped, primarily because I thought it to be time-consuming and that I have become busy (but I know I’m just unwilling to give it time). I also recently held this thinking that your prayer time with God alone will suffice for you to win the day and that the rosary’s benefits are only for those who believe in it, but I’m free not to believe in its “efficacy” and it will not affect my being a Catholic. Right now I’m struggling with my sexual sins (again), but deep inside of me is saying the rosary is the antidote so I have to get back to my devotion. So there, what have I been missing? Any advice will do, but I also humbly ask to say a prayer for me as I have long been battling with my sexual sins but can’t seem to make progress in it. It’s like I’m in circles. 😦

There is no “need to pray” in terms of anyhting but to God. It is highly recommended often to seek help. With the wdding at Cana example that Jesus listened to His Mother out of love and respect. You miss a big part of the problem in focusing on rosary alone. By that I mean you didn’t replace it with “God alone prayers” but dropped it due to inconvenience.

Rosary, Liturgy of the hours, random self made prayer, it doesn’t necessarily matter as they all lead to God. But you said no to God because you are choosing convenience over God. You need to actually be in prayer, not skipping prayer while questioning which one is worth more, so do that which you find good, but above all pray and seek God. Put Him first above well, you are basically calling God time wasted time 😦

The Church has ruled that certain apparitions are supernatural and are from God. Since She has ruled in such a manner, we should take Her seriously unless we have an incredibly good reason arising from rightly-ordered prudence. We should by no means ignore the Church simply because our emotions aren’t on board with what She says.

The Church has the supernatural gift of the discernment of spirits. We do not. (And if you think you do, I’d encourage you to find an exorcist, since such gifts are incredibly rare and are of great use to them.) As such, it is foolish to cast Her judgments aside and to ignore apparitions that are intended for all of the faithful.

Moreover, the efficacy of the Rosary is not some kind of opinion that elderly ladies might have, but which you and I can disregard since we are so very modern and enlightened. Again, it is foolish to ignore the clear mind of the Church on this question.

… in fact, it might be interesting to look at the level of authority with which certain facts about the Rosary have been taught. I wonder if it wouldn’t fall in the category of being a consistent teaching of the Ordinary Magisterium, which itself would absolutely require a certain level of assent. So many encyclicals have been written that allude to the subject, I wouldn’t be surprised.

To recover from Your sins, You need assistance of as many people (living, saints, angels) as needed. However, it is up to You to make a decision to stop sinning.

If You feel lonely (people who struggle with sexual sins often are lonely), the host of saints and angels can make You a company. But You should also feel responsibility - not to fail the people who have hope in You.

Prayers said for You. :gopray:

Jesus Christ our Savior gave His Blessed Mother to us at the foot of the cross.

Would you walk into the house of your best friend and ignore his mother? Blessed Mother is the Masterpiece of the Trinity. She is like a clear window, no smudges, that allows the Light of the Trinity to shine through perfectly. In her life on this earth she pondered much, and grew in faith, hope, and love.

She is our Mother in the order of grace for a reason. A special gift from Jesus to us.

We have group prayer saying the Rosary before
daily mass and if I missed my PERSONAL time
saying the Rosary, I can say it w/ the group, it
may help to find a group saying the Rosary
TOGETHER in your parish!!
