Devout/catechized Catholics: What do you think is the most problematic teaching of various non-Catholic religions?

What was there to repent of? His family would look after them until he was able to return after working to gain something of great value to bring back to them.

not just Mormons do that… but that is probably the weirdest, most problematic religion of all, as you say…

I can’t believe people believe that nonsense…

Mormons don’t know the Bible… or they would NOT believe it…

well, maybe if your father abandoned you at birth and was gone for a long time seeking so called enlightenment… you’d understand why i think taht is deplorable…

my father did not do that… but i know of others who have been through it… :mad:

my only point is that Budhha is not God… Jesus is…

Only God cn save us… not a man…

a 14 yr old is forced to marry her cousin… in the FLDS “church”… her mother didn’t try to stop the wedding… Both were virgins… but then the husband forced hismelf on her… She finally got away from the cult… but her mother stayed and took all her orders from the “prophet”, even when his orders were against the law (of God and man). Weird… Scary how people can be so convinced that wrong is right…

her story is interesting… and sad… i definitely think it is worth reading. I think all americans should read this… (Why do i say Americans?? i meant all people…).
 
I’m curious as to exactly how there are so many different accounts that Joseph Smith gave involving the “First Vision”. If I were to start a group centered around ritual debauchery, claimed that it came to me during my “first time”, and then gave multiple vastly different accounts of that first time, I would have absolutely zero credibility.
 
The same problem, that 'devout/catechized Catholics face.

The Trinity consists of The Father, The Word and The Holy Ghost. The Word, is Jesus’ Father (Our Father) in heaven (The Creator). God consists of The Word (The Father’s Son) and Jesus Christ (The Lord of Hosts and The Lamb).

The Son created all things. First He created Jesus Christ (He provided the means for reconciliation/redemption of His creation, before starting to create the rest).

Read Isaiah chpt 43, and 44:6; Rev 1:6; and, Rev chpt 4 and chpt 5. Jesus states, “…and the word that ye hear, is not mine, but the Father’s that sent me.” The Lord’s Prayer, tells us, that it is our Father in heaven’s kingdom that is coming. The book of Revelation tells us, that it is ‘the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb’, that occupy the throne in the end. Jesus Christ was created in the beginning, as the Lord of Hosts (The book of Hebrews, states that Jesus was created above the angels, and Jesus Christ tells us, that He is looking forward to returning to the glory that He had, before the world was.). Most of Isaiah 9:6 is a prophecy. Ministers have fulfilled this prophecy through their teachings. We have replaced The Lord God Almighty, with His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, the angels and Adam & Eve are all sons/daughters of God (The Father’s Son). They are THe Son’s creations. After The Son reconciles His kingdom (The book of Revelation), He must submit Himself and His kingdom, unto The Father. The NT contains misunderstandings concerning the above. The verses and chapters that I mention above, are in direct conflict with this understanding in the NT. This is why there are so many different religions of the Christian faith.

In Buddhism, only we can save ourselves. You cannot become enlightened for me, and I cannot become enlightened for you. We each have to do it for ourselves. The same applies to all the gods.

the Bible agrees with this: “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling”

Yes we are to try to “save” others but only that other person can decide for him or herself whether wants God or not…

Even so, we could not work out our salvation without Jesus to show the way… and we are savedby the grace that comes from his sacrifice… by his mercy… and not so much by what we do/don’t do because we cannot be absolutely perfect…

until maybe we have been in Purgatory for a thousand yrs… :eek: 😃
