DH in ICU, need prayers! Thanks!

You and your family are in my continued prayers Burbs. I too, will remember him at Mass this morning. God Bless!

Update: He wasn’t quite so sedated Saturday morning, could answer questions requiring nodding, bed raised into a sitting position. He got to see the girls, opened his eyes a little.

Saturday afternoon, while they were changing him for bodily needs, his blood pressure took a dive. He is on a very low dose of one blood pressure med. He had 8 hours CRRT dialysis. Still no urine.

He passed the night in much better shape.

The girls and I are going to early Mass at our parish, possibly out to breakfast someplace inexpensive. I will go over and see what’s what. A good friend has offered to take the girls for the afternoon, will give me time to do some stuff and go see Mario without also wrangling girls, and she wil make dinner.

Please continue to pray, and know that I will be praying for all of you and offering our up our suffering for the CAF intentions.

Update: The ICU is trying to get his blood pressure stable again, his heart beat normal, and his artial fib regulated. Other than that, he’s fine.

My adult daughter, the girls’ mother, is causing trouble. I don’t want to get into it online. So we all need prayer.

Praying for Mario! Gosh, family problems are the last thing you need at a time like this. I will pray for peace in your family also. Thank you so much for praying for my intentions–everything is so much improved!
 
I have been keeping your family in prayer over the weekend. Hoping that every little prayer brings you and your husband a big step closer to health.

God of Heavenly healing, You alone have sustained this family through their tears and anxiety. The prayers of the faithful have been borne to You by Your Blessed and Beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. In Your Divine Mercy, continue to heal Mario and to bring peace to this suffering, mightily tested family. Lord, You know that their faith remains unshaken. It is, even stronger through the gracious gift of Your mercy. We thank You and we praise You, Blessed Lord God of Israel! We continue to praise Your name and implore Your continued healing. We shall pray until all is well. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen, Alleluia!
 
UPDATE- Weaning from oxygen is going excellently. His left lung has straying, but is otherwise CLEAR. His right lung is TOALLY CLEAR. The little spot they were watching in case it was cancer is GONE.

IF they can take care of a couple other things, he will be weaned off the oxygen and will not need a trache. THOSE THINGS (and this is where it starts to get tricky):
1.) His heart rate is still in the 100s.
2.) He runs a fever at night. Last night, it went up sufficiently to have him placed on a cooling blanket, which helped a lot. It also slowed his heart rate.
3.) He has had a reaction to one of his antibiotics, which gave him a rash and could also be the cause of his fevers and speedy heart rate, as well as atrial fib. They changed the antibiotic.
4.) Because of the heart rate, the dialysis has to be very slo-mo. He might be getting another round of 72-hour dialysis if the other factors don’t change.

Mario is relatively awake. I got eye contact, got my hand squeezed by his, got many nods of yes, one head shake for “no” and a lot of grins for my jokes. I found out how to use his bed to tune in our local 70s oldie station as well. We watched a funny movie together. If the girls are up to it, they will go see him tonight.

Please continue to pray, and I will continue to offer up my sufferings and also pray for all of you on CAF.

We shall pester the Lord with prayer until he grants our request! Remembering Mario daily. This is not only a test of your faith, but a strengthening. Praise God that you have been found worthy of testing.

have read every post and progress on your dear husband and you are in my prayers also. May god watch over and bless you and your family. I will keep you in my prayers daily. prayfully yours Mary (sprouts)
 
Update: I received the blessing of my husband’s smiles, his semi-opened eyes when he could keep them that way, several heads nods of the affirmative, one distinct head shake of the negative, a couple hand squeezes, and a thumbs up! The little girls were able to see him, and he was able to see them, and blow them kisses formed around his breathing tube.

Dialysis went much better this time. His blood and chemistry are good, with the exception of hemoglobin, but still within normal levels.

His lungs are clear, although they are still dredging up nastiness that has to be suctioned every so often.

He is still has artial fib, has a high heart rate, and low/ high blood pressure. I was told this is very common with septic patients.

There is debate among pulmonary and nephrology about a possible temporary tracheotomy. It seems a lot of it depends on when they can finish weaning him off oxygen. Either way, once the tube is out, they can start to feed him a renal diet with fluids. His fluids will not be limited because of the method of dialysis they are using, CRRT. But for a time, he will have to be very careful with what he eats. The list is long as to what he can’t, and actually odd as to what he can eat.

I finally slept normally last night.

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the continued prayers. Please know that I continue to pray for all the CAF prayer intentions, and offer a portion of our family sufferings on behalf of those.

Your DH may have a bit more to go, but with God he made it this far and wil Him he will make it through the rest. I am continuing to pray for you both daily. :gopray2:
