They are looking at a trache on Thursday morning. He will be more mobile, and he can do more stuff like have something more consistent in his stomach. He is worried about being able to talk permanently, even though it is not a permanent trache. He is frightened.

His bp is still fluctuating, along with the artial fib.

The pulmonologist wants him to go to a rehab center for two weeks when he is ready to leave the hospital. To say she approached the matter in the most undiplomatic way possible is an understatement.

Please hang in there with me, and please continue praying. Today I had a lot of suffering to offer up. Please also pray for my adult daughter. She is triyng to make her father’s critical illness into all about her.

Continuing to pray.

Praying for your husband and family. The trach sounds like the best bet to me too as it may be a long recovery and he can always have it taken out. I pray for healing of all emotions too. It just happens to the best of families.

Tomorrow is temp trache day!!! It will be inserted sometime between 9 and 11 AM. It’s routine, and this doctor is one of the best, and it’s a fab trache set (if you can call a trache that)- but it’s still an operation.

The girls and I were able to spend about 2 hours with him today, relatively alert. He had 2 units of blood. he is feisty, a very good sign.

He’s down to dialysis every other day.

Please keep praying, and I will keep praying and offering suffering for all CAF prayer intnetions and prayer warriors.

Lord, You love Mario with an everlasting love. As You have accompanied him through this test of faith, graciously continue his healing, so that he may praise Your Holy Name as he is able. Take his fear upon You, and send Heavenly graces upon him, comforting him with Divine reassurance. Increase the peace and joy of his family, who has shared in his ordeal. Since we all experience days that we are ashamed of, grant an outpouring of compassion and love unto the doctors, nurses and technicians who care for him, that they may perceive the spiritual aspects necessary to healing. Lord, we see the torment of the body, but You see the suffering of the soul. Mercifully grant the pulmonary specialist a spiritual awareness of his suffering, so that their care is transformed into an expression of Your Divine love. We ask this in Your Heavenly, Holy and Eternal Name, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

:gopray: Father, you have been with Mario and his family throughout their suffering, for this we offer to you our thanks and praise. Continue to give them the strength and encouragement to carry on their difficult journey, bearing their cross bravely. Continue to watch over them, shining your love and mercy down upon them, and comforting them through this test of their faith.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

There is a purpose Lord for all to do your will and we thank you for your blessings and continued healing. Amen

Update- THANK YOU LORD, BELSSED MOTHER, ST. TERESA BENEDICTIA OF THE CROSS, AND ST. FRANCES CABRINI!! And athank you to William F. Buckley, even if he is not canonized yet.

The trache is in, and looks lovely from what I’ve seen. He will have a snazzy dueling scar!

I just left there. His bp is good, heart ratea little high but still good. All lab work except hemoglobin is fine. He’s had 6 units of blood. They think he might have a stress ulcer. if they have to, they will cauterize it.

He will have 4 hours of dialysis tonight.

Please continue to pray, and we will continue to pray and offer.

Update- He is as cranky as anybody I’ve ever seen who can only move his lips and not talk. He demanded food (can’t have it yet), demanded to have them help him to the bathroom (can’t do that yet), was upset with the EMHC who came to bring me Communion, and sort of let me know he didn’t want my wifely presence this morning after an hour. He hates the trache, even though it is a first-class job.

He’s at 40% oxygen. They are starting the weaning process. There MIGHT be something wrong with the balloon in his trache, so please pray there. They are also having trouble with his dialysis. His body is treating the quentin catheter as a foreign object- which it is- and clotting it with red platelets.

Please keep praying. Praying and offering here.

Keeping him in prayer, Burbs. Thank You Lord for all that you have done and all that you are going to do.

Still praying here for your DH. I think it’s maybe a good sign that he is cranky - maybe it’s a sign he’s feeling better? I would be cranky too if I was him though. Will storm Heaven for your intentions!!

I am thinking of you and your dh and praying for both of you. It has been quite an ordeal God love and watch over both of you. prayerfully yours, sprouts

Update- He spent a somewhat rugged night. They adjusted his quentin catheter, and dialysis took out 5 liters of fluid. THANK YOU LORD. He had a rough time sleeping, and his heart rate is up to the 120s.

Today, I need to pick him up some tennis balls for exercising his fingers.

Thank you for all your prayers. I contune to pray and offer up for all on CAF.
