Not sure I could imagine a God that could be outsmarted by anyone he created personally. Just thinking in human terms now.

I am convinced that OSAS is false because of this kind of thing we are kidding about.

Striving to be with God, never assuming your title gives you a pass inside. That is what I think is closer to truth than simply claiming his name.

I once heard a story of a very devout monk who was well respected by his brothers. His health grew frail, and his brothers gathered around him to pray. As he lay on his death bed, he suddenly said, “Pray for me, brothers, for I have yet to repent.” I think of that and I wonder how many of us can really say our salvation is assured - yes we have faith in Christ and that faith gives us strength, but to proclaim your assurance in Paradise is almost arrogant. The only one who could really claim that he would be in Paradise (besides the apostles) was the Wise Thief - and that was because Christ told him he would be.

Personally I think men like Robertson just need to be ignored more than anything else. Any attention they get distracts people from the true purpose of the faith.
