Did anyone receive a Catholic type gift for Christmas?

My Fundamentalist friend gave me a Roman Missal that was originally published in the 1950s. She got it at an estate sale, and she said that as soon as she saw it, she immediately thought of me.

I was, of course, absolutely thrilled - not just about the book, but that she thought of getting it for me - I couldn’t have been happier. 🙂
Now THAT is pretty cool. A good friend you seem to have there! 👍

My wife gave me an i-pod, because I have an MP3 player that doesn’t have enough power to download all the Catholic pod-cast I like to listen to in my car. I will also now be able to download all 4scriptual Rosarys. I can’t wait to get started.

My sister gets me the odd Catholic notion from a Mexican Grocery store every once in while. This year she got a large flint glass Madonna bottle with a cork in the top. I have no idea what it is for. It looks like a coke-bottle-colored glass Mrs. Butterworth’s Syrup bottle only larger and Mary. I can’t see me trying to fill it up with Holy Water–it is too large. She said I should either fill it with blue sand or olive oil (virgin!) But it really looks like something that should be useful. Anybody know what to do with it? Is it a Latino thing? Maybe I will fill it with sand and put a candle in the top.
Oh do you have a photo? I am Mexican-American and I haven’t seen one of those my mom & I would love one 🙂 My mom would probably fill it with holy water. She has a large glass jar of Holy Water.

No religious gifts probably cause I just bought a bunch of stuff for myself for my Bday last month. But… for the first time EVER I read a passage from the family Bible for my parents. I had a little personal bible growing but never read out loud or read from the Family Bible. That in itself was a gift!

Hey–that is a wonderful idea!👍

DH gave me a calendar of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Mother Teresa’s “Come Be My Light”. 🙂

I got a Christmas Eve apology from someone I love very much.

Now that is something I didn’t expect someone to post. How wonderful that must have been for you (and for the person):o

I think she must be Guadalupe–she has stars on the back of her cape. I took this pic next to a vase of flowers and the phone so you can see how large it is:

Well, I don’t know if she thought of it as a gift, but my wife officially entered the catechumenate with the Rite of Acceptance on Dec. 23rd.

I got a copy of the Diary of St. Faustina.

So did I! I had read her biography earlier this year and asked
my husband for the diary for Christmas! I always receive
some Catholic gifts for Christmas. I also gave a good friend
of mine a book by Father Grochel. 🙂

My mom and dad gave me a copy of Bl. Theresa’s “Come be My Light” and my daughter gave me a copy of David Gibson’s “The Rule of Benedict” about BXVI.

My dd would like to take her name when she is confirmed in a few years. (St Faustina) How do you like the book?

My dd received a new cross necklace from my sister for Christmas, too…very thoughtful of her.🙂

I received an annual renewal to the National Catholic Register from my godmother. : )

My husband gave me for my birthday (the day after Christmas) a replacement of my favorite rosary that I loved to use in bed for some reason - it is just plain white frosted beads with a white enameled St. Benedict crucifix and center piece - but I loved that rosary and somehow lost it on our trip to England in September. He found another one, and has held onto it for months waiting for my birthday - I was VERY pleased!

My Dad gave me for Christmas a cd of Gregorian Chant by a group of Monks - not sure which order. But it looks really wonderful.

And the kicker was the birthday gift from my Mom and her husband who are both Athiests. She gave me this STUNNING amethyst ring that has been hers for years - it is a HUGE pear shaped stone set in yellow gold. The card was hand written and had the Christian meaning of my first name, as well as the origin and “meaning” of the amethyst stone - known as the Bishop’s Stone, because it is worn by Catholic Bishops, etc. They totally blew me away on that one.

Still praying that green scapular is doing its thing for them… 😃

My dad got me a cross with different scenes of Jesus’ life on there. Not really Catholic but it is beautiful. I also recv’d a tapestry of the Our Father. And my favorite was the Family Bible (RSV-CE edition). Dad got it from EWTN. Its really nice and something that I’ve wanted since getting married.

I got the four volume set of Ritual Song for keyboard and voice. Love it. I was surprised that DH would do such a thing. He is not Catholic and he must have remember me saying once that I would like to have it.
