Hi Davy,

No. Jesus was not created. This is a bit beyond our mortal comprehension, but the most authoritative summaries we have are from the Creeds.

The Nicene Creed says:

“I believe in One Lord Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, True God from True God, begotten, not made…”

The Athanasian Creed says:

“…As also there are not Three Uncreated, nor Three Incomprehensibles, but One Uncreated, and One Uncomprehensible…”

“…The Father is made of none, neither created, nor begotten. The Son is of the Father alone; not made, nor created, but begotten…”

Complicated question which can be looked at in several ways.
Jesus is both God and man.

Are you refering to “Jesus” as man? Yes God created the Body of the man Jesus in Mary’s womb.

Are you refering to “Jesus” as God? No because Jesus, the second person of the trinity, is God, The Word, and God is eternal and the Word was at the beginning. (John 1:1)

John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
**John 1:14
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. **

Note here in verse 1 that “The Word” was with God and was God even in the beginning. Then in verse 14 this eternal word “became flesh” indicating that the flesh was created to “house” The Word and allow Him to dwell among us.
So the flesh was created, while the spirit is eternal.

According to the teachings of the Church, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit exist as One God throughout Eternity.

God the Father sent the Son into the world. When the Son took on human flesh he was named Jesus, or Yeshua.

The opening of John’s gospel makes this clear.
 
Entities are created if produced by a higher entity. A man creates a chair, or a house. God created Man.

A man and woman do not, however, create a child. The child is man, like its parents, and therefore is not created but generated (or “begat”, to use another appropriate English word).

Since God the Son is not a lesser being than God the Father, he cannot be created. Rather, he is generated of God the Father.
 
Thanks, but what does Begotten mean? As is Jesus is God’s only begotten son, or he was begotten by the father?
 
And we should also be clear that the Son is eternally begotten of the Father. I think this has to do with the relationship that is between the Father and Son. But there was never a period when only the Father existed and then He begot the Son and then the Holy Spirit came into existence. God (Father, Son, and Spirit) always exists.

or he was begotten by the father? No, that would imply that it happened at a particular time. We would say the Son IS eternally begotten of the Father. And Jesus is the eternal Son who became incarnate in the womb of Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit at a particular point in time.
