Well, your master Jesus did all brave things -entered Jewish synagogues for example. Can you do something less brave ? Be of courageous heart and ask disciples of Christ of** other denominations**, keep your current faith but ask and look them in the eyes : how come they wouldn’t take part at the altar and maybe you do ? Why ? Ask them.
Many of us came from non-Catholic denominations and are now Catholic because the triple thread of Scripture, history, and tradition is unassailable; everything else is a fragment.

For the record, the Catholic Church is NOT a denomination. A denomination is, by definition, an entity that has been named “off of” the principle “nomination” – i.e., the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church can hardly be lumped with the endless number of Christian associations claiming more-or-less equal status with one another, while all believing different things and all claiming to hold the truth of Jesus Christ.

I understand. I haven’t seen Roman Catholic Church listed at Rick Ross cult database.

Thats enough for me today fellas. Thanks for great conversations. Many thanks to all for your eagerness to have fellowship with God.
God’s bless.

In remembrance. God wants your heart, not outer religious rites. He actually punished Israel for that - Pharisees were all rituals and impure hearts.

Heart : “Love God with all your heart and all your might. That is the greatest of commandments”
Here’s something to consider. God also released a plauge killing 24,000 Israelites, because two of them approached the Tent of Meeting and they were not Levites or priests. (The plague only stopped when both people had been skewered with a spear). It seems pretty clear that God wanted and wants our hearts as well as our ritual observance.

That is the Old Testament - New Testament is sealed in blood of Jesus and altar (temple) - abolished.

Religion means re-connect (ligere - connect, re-ligere - reconnect). So, I believe God wants sinners to reconnect by repenting and accepting Jesus as their spiritual master.

That in place - no sacrifice needed. Be it bread or other stuff like flowers, food, animals or wine.

Religion may or may not mean re-connect, depending on which etymologist is doing the talking. But my point was that God was no slouch when it came to enforcing religious ritual.

To say that God does not want religious ritual is to say that God does not understand his creations. God knows that we are creatures of habit, but he also knows that we need and rely on rituals and patterns of behavior. How many of us do the same thing the same way every day? What God wants is for us to put ourselves INTO the rituals completetly, as Valke said. We are to throw our whole heart, soul, mind and strength into worship.
