** I tried to see the verse 17:62 but I could not find anything as you meant. You please post the verse or give the verse number again. Then we will discuss who was tempted by the devil, Muhammad or Jesus.**
(Iblees (Satan)) said: “See? This one whom You have honoured above me, if You give me respite (keep me alive) to the Day of Resurrection, I will surely seize and mislead his offspring (by sending them astray) all but a few!”
( سورة الإسراء , Al-Isra, Chapter #17, Verse #62)

(Iblees (Satan)) said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all.
( سورة الحجر , Al-Hijr, Chapter #15, Verse #39)

Matthew 4:1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”

It is openly recorded in the Gospels that Satan tempted Jesus and Jesus proved stronger.

I think it was Satan in the cave at Hira that caused Mohammed distress. Then the revelations to Mohammed stopped for a few years before starting again. Satan then told Mohammed the conversations Satan had with God about not bowing down to Adam which is the verse I quoted above. Satan was mocking Mohammed because of his ignorance and because Satan thinks God misled him so Satan vows to mislead humans. 600 years after Christ, Satan misled Mohammed and see how that has turned out today?

You are speculating, writing the Satan in place of the angel. Your last paras makes me write satan in place of Jesus every where in the bible. Because Jesus was tempted by the devil. Why did the devil dare to come near jesus?? There was definite weakness inJesus that is why he tried to temp him.
So the devil must have attached himself with Jesus for the rest of his unsuccessful life. That is according to your reading of the sacred scriptures. Then we see the devil being punished for his sins on the cross too. A man of God cannot be punished like that. Was it really Jesus on the cross or was it the devil who tempted Jesus?

No wonder why Al-Quran say so that People of the Holy Book Bible Changed BIBLE.

Firstly, there was NO weakness in Jesus. God allowed the devil to go near his son to prove how weak the devil is and to show that his son cannot be tempted, hence, showing his power and purity.
Secondly, Jesus did NOT have an unsuccessful life as you put it, have you actually read the bible?? Have you noticed the amount of followers he has here on earth today? There are more Christians then there are muslims, so thats saying something about the truth of Jesus.
As for your last couple of sentences, im not even going to comment on that, thats just plain ridiculous!

Exactly you got it inJESUS so my friend stop going to church coz they are teaching you evil. Bible is gone from this world you will never ever find exact one. Sometimes true words come from his or her mouth. So stop believing on different Bible which are in right now form. Al-Quran is not Bible. Infact not a single word like it.
Reread this again:
if they were visited by someone who taught them what is different from the Bible, it is satan. The Bible says so when it mentions clearly that satan can distiguise in an angel of light to teach a different Bible.

Since you clearly cannot understand what InJesus was talking about, ill put it in an easier way to understand.

Bible is the true book of God.
The devil can appear as an angel of light.
Devil appeared as an angel of light to Mohammed.
Mohammed wrote false scriptures called the quran.
Quran is the false book of God.

Now that is in point form, hope it makes it clearer for you to understand.

Your deity (Allah) states that the Koran has been repetitively distorted:

Surah 22: 52. Never sent We a messenger or a prophet before thee but when He recited (the message) Satan proposed (opposition) in respect of that which he recited thereof. But Allah abolisheth that which Satan proposeth. Then Allah establisheth His revelations.

This verse proves that Allah’s message was always corrupted by Satan. Allah supposedly edited his message later, failing to prevent the insertion of Satanic verses into his original message.

Surah 16:101. And when We put a revelation in place of (another) revelation, - and Allah knoweth best what He revealeth - they say: Lo! thou art but inventing. Most of them know not.

Allah is presented here by the authors of the Koran as a deity tampering with his message and making revisions on the basis of his omnipotence(!)

No such claims by or for the true God of the Bible!

Why did the devil dare to come near jesus?? There was definite weakness inJesus that is why he tried to temp him.
Very good question.

Matthew 4:3The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
Matthew 4:5Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6"If you are the Son of God," he said, “throw yourself down.
Matthew 4:8Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9"All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”

Jesus was very weak at this time.
Matthew 4:2After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.

Matthew 4:10Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’

The Jews did not recognize Jesus as Messiah. Satan did.
Mark 3:23
So Jesus called them and spoke to them in parables: "How can Satan drive out Satan?

Luke 11:18
If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? I say this because you claim that I drive out demons by Beelzebub.

Satan was not on the cross, Jesus was. Demons were afraid of Jesus.

Luke 4:33 In the synagogue there was a man possessed by a demon, an evil spirit. He cried out at the top of his voice, 34"Ha! What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!"

35"Be quiet!" Jesus said sternly. “Come out of him!”

Demons praised Mohammed and the Quran.

72:1 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of jinns listened (to this Quran). They said: Verily! We have heard a wonderful Recital (this Quran)!

Be careful when you think maybe Satan attached himself to Jesus when it is not true. It is true with Mohammed. The fruits of each mans life is also proof of who influenced them.

Please keep your eyes open.

the Quran says the opposite. I will keep going to church, and re-read the Quran 😉

the warning that satan can take an angelic form and give different teachings exist in the Bible long time before Muhammad was even born. So we check what the Bible says, and then what Muhammad or Smith or anyone who claims inspiration from God. In other words, God gave us a warning and we assess accordingly.

100% sure it was devil. HeHeHeHe

100% sure it was devil. HeHeHeHe
100% sure it was the devil who threw Mohammed to the ground at Hira.

Tell me, why was Mohammed so afraid? Why did he not know it was Gabriel? Why did Mohammed steal what was not his? Why did Mohammed have people assassinated after he was won Mekka?

You think a good man of God like Jesus would not be treated like He was in the Gospels, but you think a man like Mohammed that kills men women and children, steals, and has sex with children is from the same God with the same message?

Tell me why jesus in passion of christ movie you guyz show him that he is getting scared before last night of cruxification. Jesus died for you sins haahahaha. Joke of the centuries.

Tom Shaikh,

You’re better than this. Don’t stoop to their level.

It’s an interesting question you pose, though.

Jesus (saw) was a character who teaches us certain things about suffering in the sake of a higher cause, or goal.

I think you said someplace you were a student. I remember being a student, in Salt Lake City Utah. I was far away from my parents and friends. My tuition was paid (I had a scholarship) but I had to struggle very hard to make rent and buy groceries. I lost weight, went without sleep, and had a hard time.

Now, even then I didn’t believe in the Jesus story the way most Catholics and Mormons here do, but I took it as inspiration. The Jesus story contains themes of delaying gratification, putting ideals ahead of selfish pursuits, and suffering in the present for the sake of the future. It’s a very powerful story, even for the skeptical among us.

Tell me why jesus in passion of christ movie you guyz show him that he is getting scared before last night of cruxification. Jesus died for you sins haahahaha. Joke of the centuries.

We have been over this answer loads of times on this site, but just to recap for you, its because of his human side.

Mohammed actually talking to an angel, now that is a joke!

I would say - more specifically - it was because of our sin. He became involved in our sin. This happened on the night before He died, just after the Last Supper.

Consider the scenario; Jesus was really present in that first Eucharist when He said “This is my body”. Then the apostles took Him into their heart - a place of sin - when they ate the Eucharist. Shortly after, His passion started and He started to suffer.

Well, maybe I didn’t word it properly, but it makes sense to me. :twocents:

He came to earth to live as a man, and he feared pain as a man.

You do not understand the concept of sacrificial love.

Would you die for somebody you loved? Do you even understand the concept?

His sacrifice was all the greater because he willingly accepted it.

Because he loves us. He loves us so much that He willingly accepted suffering and pain and died for us, and then he won by defeating death. He is perfect. We are not.

Yet he sacrificed himself for us. That is awesome.

I pity you. You do not know the love of Christ.

Why would you come on a Catholic board and try to lure us over to your false prophet who teaches only intolerance and killing?
We have Jesus - true God and true Man.

Do you even understand anything that I have said?

I will answer your mocking question when you answer my serious questions.

Why was Mohammed afraid and why didn’t he know who/what spoke to him after beating him up?

Why do you honor a man that steals, murders, and has sex with children?

**When Jesus is afraid and crying, you say that he suffered because he was a man. But what about Muhammad? Was he not a man?. So if he was afraid for anything then why do you blame him and forget your Jesus who was mighty afraid of being killed on the cross.

He suffered even before the cross for he prayed whole night to avoid that cup of crucifixion. He was not willing to die on the cross. He was a strange type of god who was asking even his followers to pray for him to be saved from the death on the cross. Did he not request the disciples to keep awake and pray because the time was very difficult. But they went to sleep and did not pray for him in the garden before his arrest.

That is a funny god who is asking his friends to pray for his safety. And he himself prayed so much that sweat was flowing like blood. He was beseeching his God (That is everybody’s One real God) to save him from the humilating curse of death on the cross. Nobody wants to be a cursed persons. But christians have happily accepted that Jesus was indeed cursed.

It is better for any one to go to hell instead of making Jesus a cursed person. Why I am writing all this? It is because the christians here on this forum are criticising Muhammad for his fear on the first visit of the angel. And they (christians) are boldly saying that it was not an angel who visited Muhammad but it was satan.

We know who was visited by the Satan. That was jesus. It is written in the bible that satan took Jesus around on an errand for forty days. We hate to hear even such bad things. A funny God. Even Satan visits him and tempts him. Unbelieveable.

The gist of the present discussion is that nothing good or bad from the christians should be believed because they are themsleves misled and they have lost the real guidance that was given to them by Jesus.**

** Please consider the human side of Muhammad too. Loads of time. Jesus was afraid of the punishment on the cross because of his human side. So Muhammad could be afraid of the first visit of a mighty angel of God because of his human nature.

Jesus had nothing to fear. That was only a piece of wood (cross).**
