Our Lady was buried in the Jesophat Valley in Jerusaleum? and after ascending into Heaven to join Her Son Jesus a sweet smell of roses pervaded the area for a while. City of God, Agreda, Corination.
Hi
Our Catholic friend kathygleeson27 has mentioned that perhaps Mary died and was buried in the Jesophat Valley in Jerusalem.

How do my Catholic friends take this information, please?

You know, I believe that Mary went alongwith Jesus to India, and she died there and perhaps is buriend in Murre, a hilly station near Islamabad, Pakistan.

I love Jesus and Mary as mentioned in Quran.

Thanks

Perhaps the “Jesus” and “Mary” mentioned in the Coran went to India and died there. You will know better about that than I.

But the real ones–the Jesus and Mary of the Bible–never went to India.

Now, I’m not just giving you my opinion here. I’m giving you the truth of the matter.

I have read this - one of many ideas. I have also visited the shrine at Ephesus where the Virgin Mary reached the end of her life and was assumed, body and soul, into heaven. The shrine is a joint shrine with Muslims.

If anyone could produce a single bone of her body, they would have done in medieval times. Something like six of Jesus’ foreskins were claimed, but no church every claimed part of Mary’s body.🙂

Well, if a religion was to be founded on the notion that its founder died and rose and went to some mystic land called “heaven”, there better be no trace of the body ever found on this old earth!. Hmm, wonder how you could make sure that happened? Tough to disprove resurrection if those pesky bones were ever found - perhaps they thought of that at the time!! 👍

So, India was the hot place to go in those days? Now why would they just pick up and go to India?

Mary was an old woman by the time Jesus was Crucified. Let us say she was about 15 years old when she had Jesus - she would be about 48 years old. A trip to India would be some jaunt for her. Why would she just leave everyone she knew just to take off to India?

It just doesn’t make sense. And when it doesn’t make sense, and without any proof on your part, it isn’t true.

But, we are to respect other’s beliefs even when they take ours and changes them so much that it is beyond belief. And no one has yet proven the Bible is corrupt.

The Apostles wrote it and they were right there when Jesus lived. And the koran is based on a guy who couldn’t read or write and wasn’t a Christian or a Jew but who had his own agenda and just messed up the Biblical stories.

If the Bible was corrupted that means there is an original copy somewhere - and the koran cannot be used as the copy since it is based on an illiterate pagan.

WRONG!

It’s not because I say something that it’s a fact.

It’s the truth as prolaimed and held by the Church from the beginning, and that’s what makes it a fact.

Your beliefs are only opinions. Your denying the truth will not make your opinions facts.

You give opinions. I give truth.

And the Bible says that you can believe a lie and be damned, because you won’t receive the love of Truth, who is Jesus.

I am always amazed by such “christian” statements as you will be damed because you wont beleive in Jesus’s love" Wow. Believe in me or die forever and burn in hell. Hmmmm. Now that’s what I call a truly loving god!!

Except perhaps milk from the BVM. 😉

Perhaps the Apostles thought of this, but perhaps the Jewish authorities did as well. The Jews never found, or even claimed to find, Jesus’ bones. This would have been the easiest means of controverting the Christian claim that Christ rose from the dead and ascended into heaven (“No,” they could say, “we’ve got his rotting corpse here.”) So, if you believe the Apostles were willingly self-deceiving themselves and hid the body, where might I ask would they take it? And how would they keep others from knowing? Keeping a body hidden is not as easy as it may seem.

Well burning a body to nothing in an inferno hides a body, and then of course crushing the bones to powder. So does submerging it bound in weights or placing it into a vat of lye or lime - all of which methods would have been available in Jesus’ time. History tells of many sects who proclaimed a founder’s miraculous resurrection - actually a common theme in the Mediterranean area at the time.

But what’s funny how we Catholics were always taught - overtly or covertly - to use only the Jews as the foil. And while Jews were the local power and culture from which Jesus arose, and certainly had a hand in his death, his story would fall on much more powerful ears - especially well after he died.

Lets think of a new paradigm - lets think of Jesus’ miraculous Resurrection as a message carried by and needed by the Roman Empire - especially 300 years after he died!

The Romans truly would be the ones who needed to preserve the Resurrection story, especially as they faced assaults from within and without. Constantine adopted Christianity (as many Emperors adopted all sorts of spiritual notions) and the story became entwined with what was left of the might, authority and power of the fading Roman Empire and would be reborn later in Constantinople and catapulted throughout all of Europe under the Holy Roman Empire - and the construct would be complete - God rules - Jesus came to Earth as the transfer from God to Man, and his vicar on earth, originally the Emperors, then the Pope and from the Pope to Holy Roman Kings, then Queens, all their Authority carried and supported through the Resurrection story

To me, if anyone had motive to hide Jesus’ body, it was not the post crucifixion apostles nor was it the Jews. It was Rome who needed a Resurrected Christ - and Rome had a long, long history of adopting religions over centuries and various Emperors creating religions to propel their power.

Hi my friend Madaglan!

I didn’t know, very frankly, I admit as to what is a “BVM”.

I therefore googled for it:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bag_valve_mask

A bag valve mask (also known as a BVM or Ambu bag) is a hand-held device used to provide positive pressure ventilation to a patient who is not breathing or who is breathing inadequately. The device is a normal part of a resuscitation kit for trained professional, such as ambulance crew. The BVM is frequently used in hospitals, and is an essential part of a crash cart. The device is used extensively in the operating room to ventilate an anaesthetised patient in the minutes before a mechanical ventilator is attached. The device is self-filling with air, although additional oxygen (O2) can be added.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bag_valve_mask

Yet, I don’t think they had such a facility there in the first century in a tomb where Jesus had been laid for resuscitation or recovery in the scheduled time of three days; which some Catholics say might have happened on the third day as they would argue in a fix.

Paul mistook resuscitation as resurrection, in my opinion; and later when Jesus went up the hills over the low clouds on a curvy path in Galilee, secretly, towards his journey to India, Paul mistook it, in my opinion, as ascension. Paul might be erring though, in my opinion; to err is human.

I love Jesus and Mary

Thanks

Cremation was, and still is, shunned in Jewish culture. Fire besides creates smoke, which draws attention.

The Dead Sea, the closest body of water to Jerusalem, where Jesus was entombed, is the saltiest and densest body of water. Besides the natural tendency towards buoyancy, earthquakes are common in the region, which would tend to loosen and release objects on the lake floor.

The Romans persecuted the Christians for centuries before Christianity was accepted as the religion of the Empire. Moreover, the early Roman Christians were, by and large, not the senators, prefects, emperors and other important persons of state, but the lower strata of society.
