Many Muslims like to claim that the Bible is corrupted, so it can’t be a historical document. Well, two can play at that game.

Christianity has non-Christian evidence for Jesus’ existence. But dose Islam have non-Islamic evidence for Mohammad’s existence? Keep in mind, I’m playing by Islam’s rules. You can’t use the Qu’ran or Hadiths or any Islamic text because those are corrupted.

I’ve never heard of any idea that he didn’t exist. Islam is the only of the major world religions to have been born entirely within recorded history. There are reportedly letters “signed” by Muhammad (which is to say, baring his insignia) in various museums around the world. You can find some examples of such yourself if you search for “letter from Muhammad” on Google Images search. I would say the evidence is fairly conclusive that he did exist.

Did you come across some theory about how Muhammad never existed, Eucharisted, or are you just asking a rhetorical question?

Oh, wow I didn’t know he wrote letters. I guess that answers my questions.

It was a theory, yes.

Good grief!!.. I just cannot believe that this topic is even being discussed.

The Qur’an we have today came from the lips of just one man i.e. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), witnessed by countless thousands of not just his followers but also his many enemies as well throughout the 23-year period of his prophet-hood.

And so, if anyone wants to see absolute proof of his existence, just look for the nearest Qur’an… and you do not even have to read it to ascertain that he really existed.

Can’t say if he really existed or not. But if he did, I know who he will answer to just like the rest of us.

How do you know that is mohamad in that grave? 😃
tradition thing, from generation to generation,if it was fake people would talk about it,everything under 2000 is young enough to be able to “survive” through oral traditions

and you can always open the tomb, because it has been done before

plus, how could people from year 800-900 believe in it,then it was like 200-300 years after his death,it was very “close” to their own time

nothnig special, its just eveything under 2000 doesnt sound soo old,you know…after 2000 it starts to be “ancient” haha:D

Ahem… Anyone else see this question was not answered appropriately?

Without the Qu’ran and not relying on any MUSLIM source, is there evidence for Muhammad as there was evidence for Jesus (i.e. extra-christian and extra-judao sources).

I am not trying to be argumentative, just an academic exercise.

How does anyone prove that Shakespeare ever lived? → His plays are the proof of his existence.

How does anyone prove that Picasso ever lived? → His paintings are the proof of his existence.

How does anyone prove that Mozart ever lived? → His musical compositions are the proof of his existence.

If Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) did not exist, then who was responsible for producing the Qur’an?

I would regard Mohammad’s letters as proof of his existence, since they’re not Muslim text.
