Did the Early Church Believe in Transubstantiation?

I would say it is accurate to say the early Church believed in the Real Presence.

Transubstantiation was a doctrine developed by theologians to explain the Sacred Mystery centuries later. For example, pre-schism, no such term existed. It still doesn’t exist in the Eastern Orthodox Communion, but they believe in the Real Presence. They just are content with not trying to explain something.

As the Western Church was for several centuries. The reign of Charlemagne has been p(name removed by moderator)ointed as the turning point, when people started demanding explanations.
