Just like how, before Jesus was born, the Temple was in Jerusalem for the Jews; in this case, Christianity is ‘headquartered’ in Rome.
The Church may be headquartered in Rome, but this doesn’t make the Romans or the Italians the new chosen ones. As said, the people of God are the ones who believe in the Son.Just like how, before Jesus was born, the Temple was in Jerusalem for the Jews; in this case, Christianity is ‘headquartered’ in Rome.
We christians are Israel, as Paul states: “6 It is not as though God’s word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. 7 Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” 8 In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring.” Romans 9:6-8 (NIV) We are Abraham’s offspring, the “children of the promise.”The Jews were the “Chosen People” and are still the “Chosen People”.
Judaism and Jews did not exist before God chose Abram to be the first “Jew”.
God-Incarnate was born a Jew, lived as a Jew and died a Jew.
The Jews were chosen and formed as a vehicle for God’s Incarnation.
Mary, a Jew, was chosen by God to be the mother of God-Incarnate and it was Mary’s freely given YES that paved the way for the Incarnation.
Joseph, a Jew, was chosen by God to be what I call Jesus’s foster father and to help protect and watch over and raise Jesus.
There was many people along the line, Jew and non-Jew alike, who made it possible for God to become One of us and to last long enough to do what He became One of us to do.
